My husband and I would like to apply for CR1/IR1 visa.

We have some questions regarding on the process.

1. Do we need to submit the supporting evidence together with the I-130 application. I have relative you underwent the process and said that they only submit the form and their marriage contract. My aunt apply for the visa way back 2009. Is the procees still the same?

2. If evidence is needed, is it ok if we have document printed back to back to save paper and ink? Or should we have one page per document?

3. For Evidence of Bonafide Marriage

My husband and I only have marriage contract, lease contract, skype convo, documents filling marriage license and church requirement (i.e. pre marriage counselling, pre cana, etc - we were able xerox these documents prior submitting to civil reg and church), wedding venue contract, and tons of pics. Is this enough?

Thank you!

It seems like this is enough but I would provide as much evidence as you have and front load your petition. I wouldn't advise to print on both sides of the paper even if it saves ink and paper.

In general, I am a big fan of providing more rather than too little evidence, supporting documents (within reason of course) etc. Its up to USCIS to ignore documents but we sent in a lot more to avoid RFE's if possible.

Thank you for the info! We have our evidence printed on both sides so it would be convinient as well to read. We have chat logs like over a thousand pages, we decided to cut it off to 100 pages. Since we have other evidences, we opted to print it back so we are not sending too bulk file of evidence. My husband is now cold feet sending it. He has having doubt if it is a good idea.

Also, our relative mentioned that they only send the forms and marriage cert when they went to the process we asked them cause they already have experience however, we got confused because uscis website the instruction is you have to send the evidence together with application. My relative said that the evidence is only for me. Iwill just bring the evidence when i am scheduled to have interview.  Also, they where talking about the G254 form the bio form which we didnt find under Petition of Alien Relative. Is there change in the process?

here are some guidelines and ideas on what to expect during the process

Thanks for the link Nadia!

I read your blog and saw that you just submit marriage cert and photos. Did you submit other evidence beside the two together with your application?

Is there someone who recently underwent the process? How did you fill up your I30 form and what preparation have you done upon submitting the application?

It looks like the form is here right now I saw a sample here in VJ and it is only two pages and very straight forward. The new form right there are items that is confusing. Like adress whether inside and outside US and latest address outside US. Technically, i live outside the US cause im in the Philippines. So, those items and others which are confusing.

The first place you need to go in order to obtain relevant information on the I-130 petition (the I-130 is a petition form, not an application form) is here:  https://www.uscis.gov/i-130

It is there that you will find the most up to date forms and instructions.
