Hello, I am new to the forums and therefore I want to apologize if I am posting the wrong thing in the wrong place.

Me and my fiancé are currently stumped while filling in the K1 petition, the reason to it being - well, he doesn't really know his father aside from his popular name, making him hard to find on the internet. The birthdate is required in the petition and my question is - what happens if he enters an incorrect, assumed date? Would it be better to leave it blank, and would there be any consequences if he did so?

Before anyone asks, his mother doesn't know the date either. It's pretty complicated, but I bet you can tell already.

Thank you for any provided help.

Was the father listed on the birth certificate - name and D.O.B? If not listed and he doesn't have a relationship with the father, perhaps you guys could list it as unknown and explain that they do not have a relationship in the Additional Information section (last section in the form). If he communicates with the father occasionally then ask him directly. Kinda no other ways unless he knows people who actually knows his father's real name and other relevant details.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

If you do not know his birthday, then do NOT lie in the form. Put Unknown or N/A. You can explain it in a separate sheet if you want to. I don't know my biological fathers birthdate either and never had a problem with that. I put N/A or some like that.
