As the title says...we put Dubai UAE on the i129f form, but I'm also aware that Turkmenistan has an embassy too. Which one did you go to and how was your experience (did you pass?)

All my friends that tried bringing visitor visa or such going through UAE got rejected (and one did fiance visa rejected), but through Turkmenistan their second filing got accepted, so I'm just worried about this with the i129f...it seems UAE is hard on Iranian immigrants/visitors.

The designated IV processing places for Iranian citizens are Abu Dhabi, Ankara (Turkey), and Yerevan (Armenia). Those are the embassies that are staffed to handle  Iranian immigrant visas, including having Farsi-speaking employees. You would likely need a tie to Turkmenistan in order to be approved for a transfer of your case there, such as your spouse being resident there.

Where you can choose to apply for non-immigrant (visitor) visas is different and should not be compared to an IV.  Even though a K-1 is a non-immigrant Visa, the processing is different, more like an IV.

Hi @KOI. The State dept website says that all iranian filer must use either dubai, turkey, or armenia. Technically, all embassies can process K-1 visas but its generally left up to the Embassy to allow it or not. I know of an iranian K-1 filer that requested Montreal but was returned to NVC. they told the petitioner that they only processes canadian citizen and permanent resident K-1 applications. This happened despite their USCIS and NVC approval. So it may not be a bad Idea to double check with the embassy in Turkmenistan.

I am in the same boat as you as well. I requested Tblisi, Georgia because the wait time is far less and they have traditionally handled iranian applications. I plan on confirming this with them once my NOA2 arrives.
