  I believe the TOS addresses altering someone else's post to misrepresent or misconstrue the meaning. Fixed/fixxored is widely accepted as an indication that you have corrected a factual error in the post. Disclaimer: I'm not sure if VJ moderation accepts it, but it is common practice in online forums.

You would be amazed at how many things I have not been allowed to do yet have been done in spades to me. VJ moderation is a fickle beast. For a long time I thought that the best strategy was simply not to post. Then I got worried moderation would zap me for that!
