In Spanish we have a saying ''crea fama y échate a dormir'' which roughly translates to ''Become famous and then go to sleep'' 

It basically means that it doesn't matter if you do something right after doing something wrong, like Trump eventually condemning white supremacists. (Which he then sort of took back)

After you've continuously let some people down, even when you don't, they will expect to be let down. 

You are damn right that Obama is treated differently, because he conducts himself differently. Even if you dislike him and are dissatisfied with his work as the previous president, you can't deny this man has class. 

How you say things is just as important as what you say. How you are perceived will determine how you are treated, whether this is fair or not. Trump's incendiary attitude, aggressive approach and overall nasty persona (and I'm just talking about what he says, not what the media says) resulted in him being disliked by many, which cancels out the good he actually does. I am not saying this is how things should be, but it is basic human nature. If you dislike and distrust someone, you can't respect or believe anything they say or do. This should be common sense. 

Also Obama isn't the current president. I am pretty sure that if he still was and failed to mention white supremacy, many people would still find the way to be offended and call him on it, don't worry about it.

if that was the case and he was just being controlled by others, why continue the facade after you are no longer president? Even if he is still being spoon fed everything he says (unlikely) the way he says it, he clearly has more composure and class. It's a matter of body language, intonation/diction and the words you use, just as much as what you say.
