#77 and let the police take care of it. The other day I finally got fed up enough with this one woman I see often on I66 during my commute. She does everything you just described - speeding, weaving, passing on the shoulder - and literally endangers the lives of everyone on the road. And it's not just once or twice that I have seen her, but numerous times. So I finally called in to report her and the police were very responsive. Dunno if this will stop her permanently because honestly people who drive like this just don't care. But at least on this one day it slowed her down. And if I see her doing it again, I will report her again. And if she gets stopped enough, hopefully they will take away her friggin' license.

Yes calling the cops or state troopers is probably the best thing to do..

I-66 is a freakin nightmare.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I don't care about them. If they hit me, I'll report a hit and run and they'll pay higher premiums towards their insurance. Massachusetts is one state that controls insurance premiums.

ROFLMAO, you're assuming they have insurance in the first place.

And assuming they are from Massachusetts.

And that he can get the plate number.

And that he is not dead after they hit him.

I prefer to get out of their way.

Lets not forget, a hit and run means no info, therefore can not report it, therefore their premium is not likely to go up bc theres no records of an accident.

IMO tho, and since i do live in florida, we have the worst drivers i have ever seen. especially here in Gainesville. We have the retard college students who have a car mommy and daddy pay for and dont care if it gets wrecked bc they will get another one. We have the severly OLD ppl who are either blind or cant see over the steering wheel and are blind, and we have the wealthy who think anyone below them should move over to the side of the road so they can get by.

I have never in my life seen worse drivers than i have in florida. And ive lived in ALOT of places.

AMEN. And don't forget the tourists that don't know where the ** they're going. They are part of this lethal mix. As are the often unlicensed drivers from south of the border.

ahahaha!!

I hate driving with my kids in the car, i know im a safe driver, i just trust no one else on the road. Im always paranoid with the kids in the car.

When my daughter was 3 yrs old i had an accident, i was going thru the intersection and the guy on the other side of it decided to make a left hand turn infront of me and i was going 45 mph and he 40mph thinking he could make it before i crossed the intersection.(i had no clue he was going to do it, it was a last min thing, a flash and then a noise of metal hitting metal) my car was totalled and my sister (the passenger) was air lifted to the hospital. My daughter in the backseat and in a carseat had not one mark on her, but the scare has carried with her til this day and shes 11. I was hurt too but didnt notice since i was focusing on my sister and my daughter.

But this is an example of drivers who have no concideration for other drivers. The mentality of "i see them coming but i know i can get there first" and then BAM, you have sent ppl to the hospital.

In the state of Virginia insurance is compulsory

Would you believe that it's not?! Crazy commonwealth...

Uninsured Motor Vehicle Fee

The Virginia Uninsured Motor Vehicle (UMV) fee allows a motor vehicle owner to register an uninsured motor vehicle. At the time of registration, the motor vehicle owner must certify whether the vehicle is insured or uninsured.

If the vehicle is uninsured, the motor vehicle owner is required to pay to DMV a $500 uninsured motor vehicle fee in addition to normal registration fees. Payment of the $500 fee does not provide the motorist with any insurance coverage. If involved in an accident, the uninsured motorist remains personally liable. This fee is valid for twelve months but maybe prorated for a shorter amount of time.

Motor vehicle owners who falsely certify that they have insurance and are found by DMV to be uninsured face stiff penalties. In addition to facing suspension of all driver and registration privileges, compliance includes payment of a $500 statutory fee, a $85 reinstatement fee and filing proof of insurance for three years. During the three-year period, insurance companies cooperate with DMV by providing notification if a policy is canceled. This requirement to maintain proof of insurance enables DMV to ensure that these motor vehicle owners maintain liability insurance on their registered vehicles.

No. That driver was driving recklessly. He was weaving in and out of traffic at 90 miles. I saw him doing it in my rear view mirror.

So let him pass and forget about it.

What I meant is that if someone needs to cut in front of me or makes an honest mistake I do not even beep, unless required to avoid an accident. In comparison to most on the road twho think they own the road and should decide who merges and who does not merge..

Yes, and I'm sure you never piss anyone off with your driving.

Yet that person has the power to end my life. Someone has to make a stand against idiots like that. As 'you' said they probably do not give a ###### but they will if they almost kill me or my family and I survive. This "yeah whatever I don't care about anyone else or their life" attitude many dickheads have is not going to fly on my watch. If it means I have to serve time then so be it.

You have quite a temper. You assume all of those risks whenever you get behind the wheel of a car, or consent to being a passenger. You know what the risks are, so quit griping. Life's too short.

Around about the time I would be coming out of prison they would be coming out of their comma.. Lets see them them try that ###### again with someone else's life. Dirty Harry style justice needs to be used in these 'yeah whatever' times..

Let's just hope for all those 'bad' drivers' sake that you don't carry a gun.

In the state of Virginia insurance is compulsory

So is following the speed limit.

We drove down to Palm Beach two weeks ago and we saw no wrecks the entire drive until we hit Florida. We were stopped on I-75 and Florida's Turnpike 3 times because of wrecks. I just thought it was absolutely insane. One of them we were sitting on Florida's Turnpike at like 10pm not moving at all for about an hour. The people next to us got out their dart board and were playing darts.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Driving in Lauderdale is treacherous. My mom has always told me 'it's not what you do right but what others do wrong' and it's so true.

This is giving me flashbacks of my accident and everything which ensued afterwards. I didn't drive for well over a year once I fully recovered...and that took about a year in and of itself.

Just because the people weren't pronounced dead at the scene doesn't mean they dodged a bullet & are all ok. I have said a prayer for them cos that's all I can do. I hope the road to recovery isn't a long and painful one.

are we thinking of the same 81? PA to NY? if so i LOOOOVE it... other than the deer strewn all over the highway that is... otherwise some of the views are breathtaking!

Yup, same 81. And to be fair I really like it in PA and NY too. Derek and I actually use it to drive to Montreal. But in VA, it's a 2 lane nightmare clogged with trucks and idiots. Can't tell you how many accidents I have seen, nearly missed, or have had friends involved in.
