I need to choose a consulate to process K1 visa and I am from the South India. So, I have to pick either Mumbai or new delhi consulate to process. Currently I have put Chennai in the application. My NOA1 date is May 18, 2017.

1. when do I have to change it? now or when it reaches NVC. how?

2. Which one is preferable and/or faster - Mumbai or new delhi consulate?

When did your petitioner file for I-129F ? because that's where she needs to mention the Consulate where you will be attending your interview. In India only Mumbai and New Delhi process K-1 visas. I'd say you can go for Mumbai but I went for New Delhi.

I am the petitioner. Like I said in the message NOA1 date is May 18. I am wondering if I should correct now or correct after it reaches NVC. If I don't fix it, I guess, they will choose one for me. If there is not much different from both consulates, then I might just wait till it gets to NVC. I would like to see if people have any complaints with these 2 consulates or any positive feedback

Oh ok. I have no idea if you can actually change the location of the interview. Honestly, its not about the place, its all about the evidence you have and all the required documents and scheduling the interview before I-129F expires.

As an out-of-state person who has no help in Bombay or Chennai, I would like to know which one is more convenient for out-of-towners.

also, which one allows you to quickly schedule interview (less waiting time to interview), etc.

I am from Hyderabad and initially in the I-129F my fiancee stated New Delhi as the interview location. I didnt mind travelling to Delhi and the experience was much better than Mumbai. While scheduling the interview and when i logged on ustraveldocs the website automatically showed me "Mumbai IV" and showed me the nearest date of interview and thinking it was a automatic since my I-129F was almost coming to an end so I had to select one of the date at Mumbai. I then sent a mail to ustraveldocs why i had to schedule my interview at mumbai even though my case is with NWD. So i went to mumbai consulate and the lady said my file is with NWD and if i wish to transfer the case from NWD to Mumbai then it will take 3 weeks. I said but by then my I-129F will expire and i dont want to pay the fees again. She told me payment code will be re-activated on ustraveldocs and i"ll have to re-schedule interview with NWD and extension of  I-129F is totally upto the VO. Anyways all this happened after 3 hours of waiting after i entered the building. I didnt like the way people talk to you there. Anyways, in 2 weeks i was in NWD and the whole process finished in 2 hours. The staff and VO was excellent. So if the beneficiary can travel to New Delhi then i"ll say it will be good. I prefer New Delhi.
