I'm freaking out. I've already submitted my DS-160 for a K1 visa, and scheduled an interview for early September. I've booked medical, flights, hotels, etc and am all ready to go. Today I got a notice from the IRS saying that I have been issued an ITIN. I know that this information is requested on the DS-160, but I did not have the number 2 weeks ago when I filled out and submitted the form. Is this information important for the K1 process? Do I need to submit a new DS-160 with the updated information?

I saw an answer on one of the forums saying that I can just fill out a new DS-160 and bring the confirmation page, along with the confirmation for the original DS-160 I submitted to my interview. Is this what I should do? Or is the ITIN just supplemental information that won't affect anything in the process? Should I just leave it alone since I didn't have the number at the time of application?

I'm terrified that this will delay the process, and don't want to have to reschedule the interview since we've been waiting so long, and have plans for our wedding date.

It's been a while since I did it (prior petition) but I think once you submit the DS-160 you can't updated it. not 100% though.

You could just bring that paperwork with you to the interview and give to them ONLY if they ask for it.

I would say it will make little if any difference at the end of the day.
