First of all no one is saying all immigrants are evil. Secondly the act of illegal immigration its self has negative repercussions for legal immigrants. At the very least one could argue that it is unfair that legal immigrants have to jump through all the hoops and pay thousands of dollars then wait about a year or more  (If you are lucky and don't make any mistakes) to come here while illegals come here whenever they decide to, pay no fees and have no hoops to jump through. Oh yeah illegals in many cases qualify for government assistance while many legal immigrants have to agree to take no government assistance for 10 years.

 

I don't have anything against calling them ilegal, I know they are breaking the law.

I also do know that it is something that causes harm to us trying to immigrate there legally and those who are already there legally. Am I happy about this? of course not. Do I want all the families to be torn apart, kids to grow without parents and suffer because they ''cut in line''? of course not. There is a middle ground that people tend to oversee. I don't just see it as ''they come here whenever and want to abuse the system'' I don't think they're lucky. Many are desperate enough to foolishly cross the border and risk their lives, or overstay a VISA. They live in constant fear of being deported and it eventually might end up in that, which I understand is what happens when you didn't do things right the first time around.

The aftermath of ilegal immigration is incredibly unfair, but it hasn't hindered my ability to feel empathy. I don't want to feel the weight of hate and injustice and let it dominate my life. I wish there was a better way to fix this without having so many families affected, especially those involving kids that are paying for their parents mistakes and ignorance.

Nothing else matters bar the health of this poor kid,  and the lack of outrage in this thread is shocking.

Of course the health of the kid is what's most important. Unfortunately that wasn't the reason for this post, or the tone of it.

The intention was to deliberately provoque the conversation we're having, which naturally steers away from the appalling act. 

But don't think for one moment I am not incredibly mad and saddened about what happened to her. As many people I'm sure are.

The majority of threads are started in that manner with the intention to provoke, doesn't mean the subject should be forgotten which seems to have been the case this time.
