Expedited EAD answer

Hello,

 

I jointly filed the I-130/I-485/I-131 from an F-1 visa through marriage back in Feb. 2017. I didn't apply for a EAD as, by a consult from a lawyer, I didn't need one.

 

However, apparently I do need one now. I sent the I-765 forms, and called to get the EAD expedited (I have a job offer, and used the severe financial loss to individual as a reason to expedite). I have not sent the evidence of the job offer to USCIS yet, but today I saw these messages on the myUSCIS page:

What does that last message mean? Since I have not submitted evidence of a job offer, completing the request for an expedite EAD means that the request was rejected? can USCIS reject an expedite request without giving me the chance to submit evidence?

i have not received anything yet, so it is possible. However, one update shows that USCIS sent a response, and the following update considered complete the request for expedite. i don't know if 'completed' means 'closed' (as in 'not eligible', since I have not sent any evidence)... maybe someone has seen a similar update.

Those updates are standard for service requests. Time will tell. Hope it goes well bud, if the expedite works will you let me know? I'm in two minds as to whether or not send off for my work permit since I was also advised that I didn't need to

Hopefully that's the case. I'll keep posting in regard to this.

Hello friends, how long does it take for my status to change after they receive I-485 RFE? And does RFE affect my EAD( will it delay)? Today is 72days since they received🤔

Effectively, I received a letter with a Fax number to send my documents. Then the same messages appeared (the ones from my first post), and after a couple of calls, today I received the "New card is being produced".

Congratulations. I submitted a service request to expedite I765 last week Sep 8, the following day they sent me an email asking to send the job offer. It has been showing the standard 3 updates online ever since (SR assigned, request sent and completed).

 

Who did you call? Did you speak to a tier 2? Did you involve your congressman?

Hi. I am in a similar situation. My PD is 8/8, did walk-in biometrics on 8/25 and received a job offer on 8/31. I sent an expedition request on 9/1 and finally received letter in the mail on 9/11 to fax over all the pertinent documents/information. Today (9/15) I called USCIS since I haven't received any notification after I sent over everything. Level-2 officer couldn't really help me. He said wait for few more days and try calling back next week. I'm getting nervous because I will lose my job offer unless I receive EAD card by 9/29

I called the regular contact line, and spoke to a regular costumer representative. No congressman or anyone else involved.

The regular EAD and Expedited EAD processing has grounded to a halt.  It is very difficult to get the EAD in a timely manner even with good documentation of need. Sorry to hear that the attorney gave bad advice. Getting the EAD and AP are free, so good to file with every application, even if not needed.

I received a RFIE 2 days ago. Waiting for the notice in the mail. My start date is Oct 2nd. 

 

Did you hear back from them about your expedite request?

Yes. My I-765 was approved on 9/16 and I received the approval letter today in the mail. My EAD card is scheduled to arrive on 9/23.

i am also inn the same boat. requested to expedite on 10/24. got those standard response in the same order. But i didn't receive any email or letter yet.

Any update for you?

I got the same standard responses as you and the OP, but the difference is that my expedite request was made by USCIS while I was on the phone with them (and it showed online a few minutes later). The person said I should receive a letter next week. I'm just not sure what KIND of letter it is, lol.
