Yes, and very wrong. You should never have just a single one. :-)

Well I do have to return back to work. Gosh I feel so ashamed now for letting my fellow CEHST members down.

So if the above segregation is not being done for the benefit of Blacks, who is it being done for, Whites. That would make your position very close to that of the idiots who rioted last week

no dude, it's not the same. there were never jim crow laws against white people in this country. there is not a history of discrimination against white people in this country. my opinion, which is basically not to cry and whine when minority groups get together, is the exact opposite of the idiots who got together and cry about no one doing anything to 'benefit' white people. white people don't need any benefits for being white, because being white has never been discriminated against. it's really not that difficult to grasp.

You would provide a better argument if you could support your claims with something more elaborate. Have you found anything in the article that you can compare to pre-Civil Rights segregation. For instance, will a black student be arrested, or worse, if he or she should venture into an orientation session, other than the one described in the article? Will a black student be required to use separate facilities during their time at SFU? Will black students be required to occupy certain exclusive areas of campus, and be prohibited by law or governance from occupying others?

At it stands, you're arguing with yourself.

Honestly I hate Kirin beer, it is WAY to dry for my taste. But I like to drink both kinds of Sapporo beer, actually I just finished the last of a 6 pack of it I had in my fridge last week. My friends call me a beer connoisseur because I like to enjoy some good beer. Wither that is Asian, European, or American, I don't care as long as it tastes good. I am not much into the whole IPA craze here on the West Coast, but I will drown myself in a good Kilkenny or a Golden Ale.

Baah. Kirin is the best. Is it available in CA? Difficult to get in NY and London, though second-rate (but expensive over there) is accessible. Waiting for the flak jacket pic;)

Indeed. Self-segregation is still segregation.

If we take the GTA (Toronto area) for example, this is a rather broadly leftist part of Canada, who likewise tend to think of cities like Calgary as "redneck" and not this melting pot (re: mosaic).

Thing is, in this leftist utopia, it is severely segregated. You have people from India, and Muslims, segregating themselves to Markham and Brampton. Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, etc.) to Scarborough. Jews and Italians to Thornhill and Vaughan. Eastern Europeans (Ukrainians, Russians, Romanis, etc.) to Etobicoke, and so on..

The result is very segregated societies and intolerance run amok. People tend to speak their own languages, mingle with their own people, and western values are absent. In Calgary, it's virtually the opposite here.. where people from all backgrounds tend to be very affluent in English, people from different backgrounds are often seen mingling together, you have various backgrounds celebrating local heritage (i.e. Stampede), and you have a Muslim mayor (Naheed Nenshi) who very openly celebrates Calgary and Alberta heritage alike.

Yet, extremely few people in this city are even cowboys, it's an extremely business-centered city, and if you were to visit Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, etc. and ask them of the people in Calgary, they act as if the roads are covered in horse ####### and we're full of hillbillies here, and stereotype Calgarians alike.

I think it's great many people are starting to see these leftist movements for being backwards and all for show. When it comes to values over the last century espoused as "liberal", the left violate many of those ideals with their currently extremely regressive approach.

Edit: Also, true story.. when we moved from Toronto to Calgary, I came here first, wife and daughter a few months later. When I arrived to Calgary, first place I went to was to a bank to withdraw rent funds, the teller there was a very gorgeous Muslim woman in Islamic garb, she offered me a personal tour of the city and gave me her number. Pretty much set the tone for how people are here, and shattered many stereotypes.

This is California almost anything is available here. It's funny because Sapporo just started selling in the Philippines with a huge marketing campaign, and niece posted something about wanting to try it. So my wife sent her a picture with of one of my Sapporo beers with the caption "You can drink this one if you come to California".

The thing I like about my local grocery store called Vons is they have a place where you can grab a empty six pack and fill it with various bottles of beer for $10. So like on Sunday I got 2 Sam Adams Summer Ale, 1 Seirra Nevada SummerFest, 1 Pumpkin Sam Adams, 1 Pumpkin Blue Moon, and a orange wit Coronado Beer. I love it honestly because I get in the mood for something so I have a bottle of it in my fridge.

Sorry I didn't see this part until after my previous comment.

I actually took everything out last weekend so my wife could clean underneath the bed(yes underneath the bed because of not alot space in the apt). So I made sure everything was good to go with the flak jacket and tried it on to fit it better since I lost 25lbs. I also recycled my magazines by taking the ammo out of them and putting the ammo into the previously empty magazines. You don't want to leave them loaded for a long time.

Guinness Extra Stout.. puts hair on your chest.

When I worked for a Korean video game company, we'd go out all the time (used to golf with my boss daily), they had a thing for Sapporo.. aka American-style Japanese beer aka American-style Japanese pee water. I'm sure Japan has a lot better stuff than that on tap. :P

My coworker Chris is actually from Calgary. He is here under a work visa and overall a good guy. He takes our jabs of weird Canadians quite good and gives some as well. But it was funny hearing him debate the USA's current stance on immigration with a guy who immigrated Legally from El Salvador, they had a vigorous debate about illegals, assimilating, and deportations. What I thought was funny is Chris was all about people not assimilating, not speaking English, and pro-illegal. All the while the guy who immigrated legally from El Salvador was very much adamant about people speaking English and assimilating.

I like Sapporo, and to me it tastes better than alot of American piss beer like Coors, Budweiser, or Miller.

Guinness is good not going to lie, but it's to thick for my tastes on a regular basis.
