If you are currently living and working in a foreign country, you can elect to have your interview in that country instead. However, you'll need to make sure that you're not planning to pack up and leave the country anytime soon.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

So based on your experience, what do you think is better for me, to go back and make the interview in my home country, or to have it from here? what are the pros and cons of each option?

Frankly, country of residence is easier. People generally prefer not have to fork out extra $$$ just to interview in their home country when they can interview in their country of residence. How long more will you be living in your current country of residence? Do you have immediate plans to move back to your home country?

No, I'm settled here and no immediate plans to move back to my home country. Please accept my novice, but what I got from your reply is that if I applied from my country of residence, it will be difficult to go back to my home country.

My plan is: Once I get the visa, I will travel immediately, but I don't need to have any difficulty going back for vacations to my home country to see my family.
