You want to hear something even crazier?  My daughter's great-grandparents were in a famous concentration camp, but she's got a good friend whose parents are white nationalists.  She doesn't care, I don't care, and they don't care.  You know why?  Because they aren't doing anything wrong by having different political beliefs.  I've known other people who ascribe to those beliefs as well, some when they were young and stupid.  It doesn't mean they are bad people nor does it mean they wouldn't stop to help a black person with a flat tire on the side of the road.  

 

I think one of the most toxic things we can do as a society is create an us vs. them mentality.  Just because someone believes differently than you doesn't mean they are evil or that you should destroy their lives.  I just don't get this mentality at all - it is actually kind of fascist.  The absolute essence of America is defending people you don't agree with's right to free speech and freedom of association.  Decry their actions when they commit violence (like that guy who plowed through the crowd), but to attack them over free speech is going to end poorly for everyone involved.  It is just plainly un-American.

Because you apparently know so many in day to day life?  You could post pictures of people from any walk of life acting violently.  For example, in my home state, a Somali cop recently shot an unarmed white woman.  Does that mean all Somalis like to shoot unarmed white people?  No, of course not.  Your reasoning is no more sound than that of the "racists" you claim to hate.
