being misidentified on the internet is a problem, wondering what you think about police departments that post screenshots (usually of terrible quality) on social media to catch perps? because it's really the same thing and the same risks are involved..

First off, you know it's fake news, because it was reported by the failing NYT.

 

A professor at the University of Arkansas was incorrectly identified as one of the marchers at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va., The New York Times reported on Monday.

 

But if it were true, it's great that mistakes are being corrected. In America we would never stand for someone being incorrectly identified, or worse, accused of something he or she didn't do, based on appearance or accent alone.
