Ahem. Pre-determined. Not fake. Yeah they don't try to severely hurt each other, but I'd like anyone calling it fake to get in the ring with these guys and take some of those bumps. 

 

Anyway my favorite always was and always will be Kurt Angle.

It is all scripted and the winners are pre determined but I will admit it takes athletic ability to do what they do and there is a real risk of serious injury or even death in some cases.

I stopped watching the WWE in my teens because it just got silly after a while. They delivered a good product when there was competition,  but now that they've bought it all out, as expected, the product has plummeted. I remember on another forum recently reading about the WWE banning things like chair shots, meddling referees, sexy divas, and so on, unless explicitly approved.. giving no creativity to the entertainers. Can't imagine the WWE ever making it past the attitude era with this mentality. Nonetheless this is proof why competition is good.

I still watch WWE from time to time, but darn I miss the good ol' days back in the 80s and 90s.  When a beef would develop for several months culminating in a few big-event matches rather than a week or so and then quickly forgotten like it is now.  I idolized Bret Hart and Demolition back then, and scrambled home from where ever I was as a kid/teen to watch wrestling every weekend.

 

Sad to hear about Flair.  I think something will break in all wrestling fan's hearts should he pass away---him and the eventual passing of Undertaker when that happens.

Chair shots to the head are banned but otherwise allowed. Yeah they used to allow more things but Vince also used to treat his talent like circus animals, so there's some things I am actually glad they changed, for their safety. The big stars still have some degree of creative control. I agree the Monday Night Wars(the war with WCW) days were the best.
