Ask in your regional forum how long recent AP lasted, like stated by others it can last weeks, months or years.
usually a pattern emerges for some embassies but not always.

That's a great idea, I will try it, thank youu

That bothers me too that they didn't take his passport but I have talked to someone hear on VJ that just got approved a few months ago and he is in the states now. He also had the same person Interview him. He also told me that the same man has interviewed some of his friends in the past and he didn't take their passport just put them on AP but got approved later on and had to send in their passport. So that gives me hope knowing this.

Hello,

did the person say how long he was on AP before he got approved? we are on the same situation like you guys.

The consulate didn't tell my husband he was approved. He told my husband " your not approved nor are you denied " in those words.. The consulate just gave him the white paper and put an X on administrative processing. But didn't tell him for how long. I just hope it doesn't take a long time for all of us.

They can not tell you how long, they do not know.

It seems that most people in Cairo are going on AP. My fiance has his interview soon, we are trying to make sure we have all the documents that people were asked for during the interview even though they were not listed on the required documents.

@MenaMariel did you have your family registry? keed 3aeli? Apparently a lot of people were asked about this during their interview to ensure they are not married. My fiance requested his and the individual one (keed nafsi) just in case.

No they didn't ask for it nor any other documents, just gave me the passport and put me into AP and told me wait for the reply.

My husband and I went on the interview June 12. The console though us a month also but in the Dominican Republic is a CR1 case. On August 10 the console  show up at his house asking him some  of the questions ask at the day of the interview. They when around the neighborhood asking people if they knew us. The console though him they will notify him by email about there decision. So they when  2 days before the 2 month. I know it frustrating when they tell you a month and it actually takes more then a month. Like you said don't loose hope. I'm older then my husband by 10 years but who cares. As long as there love that, that's all that matters.

This morning August 22,2017. The consular went to my husband house in Egypt the same thing happened to him. They asked him the same questions like they did in the interview. I will never lose hope and I know my husband will be here with me soon. Good luck to you else well.😊😊
