As far as I know there was an Administrative order from the white house that made sure no new staff can be hired for a period of time.

That's a shame since my understanding is that our fees pay the costs.

You are not counting inflation/pay raise. Fee increase doesnt always mean staff increase. As Micheal mentioned earlier I think there is freeze on federal hiring for certain time

Well there have been a few Government shutdowns recently but the last major slowdown was DACA.

My main issue is that my wife cant live with me during this period of time...Otherwise her green card will be taken by the immigration authorties...She will be applying for an extension  in coming days ...Hope that is granted

And the nightmare really starts. VB for F2A will move to 22.October 2015 only according to current ILs on Facebook.

Last year it moved 5 weeks, and usually the start in the new fiscal year is aggressive. It seems like that people are more serous about their applications and become documentary eligible in higher numbers as before, plus, there are 20% more applications. Looks like a very bad VB F2A year to come.

I would suggest about May 2018 will be your interview, plus minus 1 months. Let`s hope earlier but this is what I suggest as of current data.
