I do not think so. This is a regular process and everyone doing K1 is going through this. But for Morocco it will be even harder. Say thanks to those idiots from Morocco who committed fraud in the past.

Attorneys can not speed up the process.......i speak from experience...

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Sure, he initially introduced himself on Instagram.  Then we connected on Facebook.  I was not looking for a relationship, particularly with someone from another country, so we became the best of friends.  From there it turned into love.

It would be better if you met him first alone. You can go to Morrocco and meet his family, etc. Then, you can do another trip with your kids, or he could meet you in Mexico where it could be easier for him to get a visa.

First, you want to meet him and do your due diligence. It is not uncommon for people to be looking for a green card through social media. You say you know him but there is a lot of fraud going around through social media. You can search on VJ if you want. You want to be safe and you want your kids to be safe. Some people even hire private detectives, but I don't know how you would do that in Morrocco. There is probably an international agency or something.

Second, getting any visa for someone from Morrocco is difficult so you want to have meet him for several times and for longer periods. There is no way you will get him a K1 visa or a spousal visa if you just met him once.

I'm sorry if this is too blunt. You have to be careful.

No dont be sorry.  I suppose it's better to be prepared that it will not go easily.  What do you mean by searching on VJ? Searching for him? Or for solutions?

And not to bring a negative wave, but sometimes they may make things even worse.

Hey @Jenny D.! Different evidence is required for different types of visas.

For a B2 tourist visa, he needs to be able to prove his strong ties back in Morocco.

For a K-1 fiancé visa, you'd have to meet in person within the last 2 years. Given that he comes from a high fraud country with a difficult embassy, it's best that you meet more than once and gather your meeting evidence from each trip.

For a CR-1 spousal visa, well, obviously you'll have to meet and get married and have bonafide marriage evidence.

In his situation, it seem to be quite unlikely for him to get a B2 so your idea to travel to meet him is a good one. Meeting in a third country would make a good alternative too.

Sorry that you'll have to be away from your kids if you make a trip to meet him but ultimately, that's the price that you'll need to pay in order to ensure that he's genuine and for you to gather the required evidence if you want to file a K-1 for him. Don't rush into it though.

All the best! :)

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

You can search for cases from Morrocco to see if it is something you'd be willing to go through.

(But I also meant about stories of scam artists, people that basically wanted to move to the US and disappeared once they got the green card)

You said you are in love and want to marry him. Well I would say first meet this "friend" in his country or a third one and then take it from there. You should not try to jump into the K1 without really knowing this person face to face, his family, etc. Morocco is a high fraud country so that embassy might need to see more face to face time in your relationship.  Keep in mind that you have 2 children, so you don't want to bring any stranger that you never met in person. He can try to apply for a tourist visa, if he is denied then see if you guys can meet at another country.

Want to add that it's not only about any stranger in her family, which honestly have nothing to do with. But it's also about that stranger IN MY COUNTRY and this is what I DO care of.

Yep........A visitor visa would probably be very unlikely since he has a fiance in US, no prior travel, and no other strong ties to his country.

Hi there! My fiancé (now husband!) is from Morocco and we just went through the K1 process. He actually just arrived a few weeks ago, and we did not use an attorney or a visa service. Unfortunately it's very difficult for a young Moroccan male to get a tourist visa to visit the US, especially if he has never traveled outside of Morocco. Instead I made multiple visits to him in Morocco. I recommend making at least 2 visits to him before filing the K1, though technically only 1 is required. I'm happy to share my K1 experience with you if that would be helpful! :)

Thank you so much!!! Yes, it is very helpful!
