Hello!

I have a male friend in Morocco and I would like him to visit me in the United States.  I am confused about the best way to arrange this.  It seems complicated and difficult to get.  He has recently received his Moroccan passport, but has never traveled outside of Morocco before.  He is self employed as a welder.  What is the quickest and easiest Visa for him to apply for? What I can do to help aid in this process? Write a letter of support?

Thank you for your help! We don't even know where to begin!

He can try to apply, proving his strong ties to Morocco, but considering Morocco as a high-fraud country for the US, I highly doubt he will get a visa. Sorry to say that. You do not have to support him by letter (not necessary), and he should pay for his trip by himself.

He will have to have very strong ties to his country under the circumstances....

If you prove it, then may be. But you must prove it. You said he's your friend, not your fiance. Are you going to do K1 only because you want him to come to USA? This is total fraud.

No, no no! Not fraud! We are in love and want to marry.  However we have not met.  We've known each other over a year and have been in love since December 2016.  I have two children, 10 and 7, and they consider him family too! We talk multiple times daily, facetime daily, but we are both new to this and there seems to be lots of negativity.  So we are looking for advice on the best way to have him come.

If you have not met, you can not apply for K1. You must see each other at least once but better twice. Note that immigration is a long and stressful process so be prepared for that. Considering the fact that he's from Morocco, he should prepare ever harder as he may fall in AP for a few months.

For a k1 you have to have met within 2 years.........

Sure, he initially introduced himself on Instagram.  Then we connected on Facebook.  I was not looking for a relationship, particularly with someone from another country, so we became the best of friends.  From there it turned into love.

Thanks...you might want to read the guides pages of this web site.  Lots of good information about k1 and cr1 visas.  You also might want to search this site for posts from others who have finances from his country.  Unfortunately, that can be a tough embassy......of course every case different.......

"Fall in AP".  What does that mean? Sorry for my ignorance.

Administrative Processing. This means his background checks and it may take months. And do not forget, you must prove your relationship. Not by just saying it, but also showing receipts, photos together, flight tickets, trips, hotels, etc. Again, for Morocco it is tough.

Kind of heartbreaking even to think about.  Would it help me to get an immigration attorney?
