What else can be done after receiving NOA1 (Nebraska SC June-20th-17)

Hi All. Just so that I do not wait idly, anything else that I can do while waiting for something from USCIS?

My USC wife (who cannot pass her citizenship automatically) petitioned for our 4-year-old child (her biological child) and we have received NOA1 from USCIS on 4th of July (notice date June 20th 2017) at our current overseas address (we are not currently in the USA and plan to move to USA once the visa of our child is approved).

What else can we do while waiting? Anything that we can check, get status update etc?

When can we start to contact USCIS to get a status update?

Or just have to wait until a letter asking for RFE or hopefully straight to NOA2 before 1 year, then it goes to NVC, and then continue with the visa application process?

There is nothing you can do at the current time but wait.

hurm alright. In terms of wait time, i've heard Nebraska SC is a low SC. Is it correct?

As of June 2017, the it is processing Nov 2016 cases - so for my I 130 petition, i might have 8 months before it processes mine?
