I have a question regarding the affidavit of support or co-sponsor form i-864. Do we need when applying for the k1 fiance visa, or only when doing the adjustment change of status. My question is for the I-129f is it needed? or during the interview at the embassy?

I-864 is only needed during AOS. No need to submit with the I-129F and no need to bring to the K-1 interview.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Thank you for the reply!  By any chance do you know if I need to translate our whatsapp conversations? for example my fiancee and i are taking screenshots of our everyday chat and we did that for 12 months , its a lot of screenshots. And I'm planning in printing this for the proof of continous relationship plus facetime, and calls. Do i need to translate all the chats? We mainly spoke in Spanish.

Thank you, you are awesome!

Just to add, the I-134 is needed at the K-1 interview.

Only select a few conversations from the 12 months. You can translate them yourself :)

ETA: NEVER assume the person who goes through your case file knows Spanish, be it USCIS or the embassy. Just because someone works at the embassy in a Spanish speaking country, that doesn't mean they are fluent in Spanish.

If I am a currently medical student, and am planning in using my father as a co-sponsor does he need to fill out i-134 or the i-864 ?  I'm currently unemployed because of the medical curriculum, however with student loans i have sufficient for my fiancee and i to live until i graduate 2 more years. Could i use my father as the co-sponsor and what form would he need to fill out?

thank you

For K-1, both you and father need to complete the I -134.

AOS, it will be the I-864 OR I-864A. Refer to pages 10 & 11 of the I-864 instructions sheet on this.
