Hi. I just received a denial in the mail for the n400, failure to provide sufficient evidence for continuous residence in the US. I became a permanent resident due to my uncle filing for my mother (sister). We came to the US in 2011. I left to overseas in 2012 to finish last year of college. I was there all year long. I came back in 2013 New Year's Day. I left again in 6/2015 to get married. I came back 12/28/2015 which is more than 6 months. I got denied for citiZenship.  My question is would USCIS put me in removal proceedings and when might be the next time I apply for citizenship if I could? Thanks for all your help.

hi

no but you shouldn't have applied for citizenship, you should have waited at least 5 years since your last entrance to the country, you have hardly lived here

you don't have 5 years of continuous presence in the US

you still have your GC, now you have to wait

If you apply and you don't qualify for any reason, you are painting a target on your back. If some of those reasons are deportable causes, then you can be placed in removal proceedings. When in doubt, best consult an immigration expert.

You should not have submitted the application once you realized when filling out the form that your time spent abroad was much greater than your time in the US...unfortunately you lost a good chunk of change doing that.

You're going to have to wait at least five years before applying again.

please, don't scare people with empty words. she just did not meet continuous residence requirement, it is not a "deportable cause". don't scare people with baseless assumptions.

Relax, this is not a race.
