I get what the other poster meant by being ashamed, but I agree with you, except that people need to understand there is no reason to be ashamed or proud of the color of their skin, because it makes them no better or worse. Race is a construct that found a sect in this country.

There is far more scientific evidence to global warming than there is to the existence of race, and yet, people believe it.

Bridges for sale.

I totally agree with you on this.

While no one was accusing the brand of having anything to do with the group, Tiki was not taking any chances and posted the following message on its Facebook page:

The post drew mostly praise from the brand's followers, including one who stated that "it's saddening that you even have to make this statement. I love my Tikis!" Stated another follower: "The only thing that could make this post better is if it ended with '...and by the way, the Nazis looked ridiculous.'"

I have been ashamed of the leadership of the last president when there was BLM going out protesting and rioting when nothing was said or done about it by the President. While lately there have been recent protests that have turned violent due to the ANTIFA  crowd coming for scalps. You need to get outside the bubble of San Diego and see how the other half live in California. If you do that then you would be amazed because a large amount of rural Californians both White and Hispanic love Trump. That has been my experiences travelling across California for work.

You can be ashamed that you are white because that's how your side likes to live. You want every white person to be ashamed for who we are in this country, I am not ashamed I am white at all.

Didn't even see that part you quoted in bold about being ashamed of being white. Being ashamed of your skin color is as ridiculous as being proud of it.

It's interesting because when visiting in laws I often come across the females with white boyfriends who ask me if and how the obvious visual differences between my wife and I (she looks very Chinese,  but because she can tan like no other,  which makes me jelly,  she's often confused in the summers with being Filipina.. the people in her family try to avoid tans) come into play, and for every day life they don't. Before my wife and I even saw each other we talked on the phone,  being many years in SF I knew Asian English accents (including dialects like Singlish, Chinglish, etc) but my wife's English was so impeccable I could only discern a Great Lakes accent and had no idea for a while she was even Asian. After being married 7 years I really don't even see her as Asian, just Canadian, and moreover,  an awesome wife and mother.

So in the talks with these guys I mentioned, the sticking point in the discussion generally focuses on the cultural differences. Not between the guys and their gals but the older generation of my wife's family who seemingly have a lot of disdain for Western culture but enjoy living here, quite the paradox. This has resulted in numerous conflicts between myself and in-laws, conflicts they've lost every single time. Some of these cultures need a very good smack upside the head to be reminded where they are and where they aren't.

The people in these marches I saw in videos are not a novelty for me, I've encountered them in some southern family on mom's side. Sufficed to say these people are flat out angry all the time (when any "pride" movement is primarily concerned with pissing and moaning about others, it's obviously not about pride) and the race thing is just an excuse to be a moron. They're crummy people overall and not the type I'd have anything to do with as a lecture or any smart ### remark toward my wife or daughter would instantly draw me into a fight, as has happened before with people having words to me about my sister.

What I have seen is due to the parties, the ease of drawing people into two party politics, and so on, it's created polarization that fosters extremism from both sides. It's funny because the left plays up big time how much a threat these white supremacists are. They've never seen real extremism and should pray they don't, they'd be utterly helpless. It's a pretty comfy position to be able to whine so much about petty things. And some oddball marches every rare occasion is a pretty good sign of how much the old white supremacy movements have become marginalized and ineffective. That's why embellishments make it all the funnier.

I have seen people like these as well when I was growing up in NC as well, hell my part of the county still had the only active KKK in the county and we knew where the HQ was. My father when he was younger was on the wrong side of the civil rights sit in era and he acknowledged that when he was older that it was wrong to do. But it made my day that he acknowledged and accepted my wife as his daughter in law and they actually grew very fond of each other, and he loved his mixed race granddaughter even more.

So yes times and people do change, but these individuals with the Nazi flags are despicable in my case just like the ANTIFA are to me as well. They are both on complete opposite sides of the spectrum but both sides I can not stand at all. 1 side says that they hate my family because they are not pure white, while the other side hates me for being a conservative. So either way I am screwed.

Antifa, the kkk, BLM and the Nazis are all racist, terrorist groups.  Whenever they meet up....nothing good happens.

They are all to blame and I only see more problems in the near future.

Seriously was I the ONLY one thinking this was going to end badly???? I was hearing on XM earlier that the hosts were wondering why the cops did not just seperate the two groups in the middle and not let them merge? Because once they merge nothing good will come of it at all.

Allegedly the mayor or someone told them to stand down. I just had time to watch a video and the police ordered the kkk? From the park. They forced them down the stairs where antifa was waiting with sticks and pepper spray.....and they used it on them. The police just stood and watched.

Someone higher up than these groups wanted some violence. I doubt they wanted the car incident....but the whole thing needs investigation.

I should not have read this whole thread. I now have the biggest headache.

black lives matter protests does not equal antifa protests. Why is it even thrown in the mix?

(Most) black people march mainly because they don't want to be killed, and want equal treatment.

(Most) White supremacists march because they believe they have some sort of racial superiority.

Both can and have turned violent, sure. But I know which side I rather be on.

You can't use everything Obama/BLM as a bargaining chip to justify these acts,

because the world was clearly bad before Trump and not everything is his fault, it doesn't make it any better.

There is a correlation between him and white supremacists, they were even wearing his damn red hats on the Tiki march,

for Holy Mary's bump. Am I saying that he hates black/latinos/muslims and want to see the world burn? not really.

Trump's ''Make America Great again''speech is quite the petri dish that grows bacteria even if he didn't intend it to.

And it now has a life of its own. Mainly due to how ambiguous and incendiary he continues to be.

Can we all agree that, no matter what side you're on, this is an incredibly horrible thing?

You don't need to be left, right or whatever for this one. Only human.

interesting...the paper Donnie "reads" the most and is owned by Murdoch...

glad the racist mob were denounced by their own torches.

oh, and contrary to his statement on Friday that there would be a "pretty big press conference" on Monday, none is scheduled yet. What a coward! Likely working on an angle to blame McAullife coz Donnie NEVER takes responsibility for anything.

One time is better than none.

The whole event is just a big cluster.  I suspect most of those killed or injured were not involved in the violence. If you watch these events it seems there are more people there to film or just see what is going on.

I think it is always a bad thing when there is violence and people get hurt or killed. I don't like that at all because I am thinking that the person had a family and now they are mourning.

He never said at all that he hates Blacks, Latinos, or Muslims and I hate how people keep spewing that BS and yes it is BS. Just because someone speaks their mind on a subject about why a particular country tries to send all their criminals Northbound, then he is considered a racist. That is BS to me and it is to several friends of mine who actively support him who happen to be Black, Latino, and people of Mexican descent.

I don't like how people like ANTIFA and the BLM actively comes out to try and coerce violence from counter-protests inorder to shut the free speech of an even down. That right there is the complete opposite of why groups like ANTIFA say they are protesting but they are acting like fascists themselves. There is NO correlation between Trump and these protests.

I think there were more actual journalists there than protesters on either side. It was a slow news weekend and they couldn't keep beating the NK drum that long.
