You have to be more clear because the person who seems to have received the biggest pass is the one who literally asked people to punch others and stated publicly he would offer them legal support.

"Unprecedented action" aren't the best words, I'll be honest about that. However those words don't exclusively reference violence? Could they? Of course, which is why they weren't best. But they don't have to. They did not outright, in explicit terms, incite violence.

You mention him getting a "pass" while ignoring the fact that our current President EXPLICITLY requested violence on a number of actions, and had significant support from his followers for it (as well as support here if I recall). Who really is getting the pass here? We are continuing to make excuses for a President who doesn't want to speak out against people who commit violence in his name. He seems to be getting quite a major "pass" right now.

Deflection.  Love it.  "Unprecedented" means a lot of things to a lot of people, especially the whacky ones.  Btw, when did Trump tell anyone to commit violence?  If he did, then he should be impeached.

Sure, but not sure it ever really worked.  Besides the KKK was formed way before the Southern Strategy was ever implemented by tired and true Democrats!

First off - I'm not deflecting anything, you are just refusing to properly read my responses. I admit unprecedented wasn't the best choice of word, but it means a lot of things to a lot of people, as you mention. It is not specifically promoting violence. It could, but it could mean a lot of other things.

Compare that to very explicit requests for violence from someone else on the campaign trail. On that topic - Did you miss my quotes? Or would you like to claim he didn't say those things? Or is it because he wasn't President at the time that he gets a "pass"? I'll repeat them again. If reading causes you trouble, just try to make it through the bolded part. That explicitly asks people to commit violence, which is what you requested. Trump even added two "seriously"s, so you know he was....serious.

"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the ####### out of them, would you? Seriously. Seriously, OK? Just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise. They won’t be so much, because the courts agree with us too — what’s going on in this country.”

"Maybe he should have been roughed up because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing,"

“I’d like to punch him in the face,”

I wouldn't quite equate the BLM movement to the white supremacist movement. BLM protestors were protesting what they view as needless deaths at the hands of police, while white supremacists are protesting their own diminishing once-dominant status in society. One is protesting from a victimized standpoint while the other is protesting a loss of privilege. To me, the former is a much, much more legitimate reason for protest, even if unfounded in some cases.

Either can rightfully demonstrate though, of course. And I will agree that violence has no place among any kind of protest. Trump is correct when he states such.

However, Trump should have taken his statement a step further in setting an example as the white leader of the country where this occurred and denounced white supremacy and racism and settle that he does not believe in or any way support what they believe in. The fact that he hasn't has, in my opinion, failed white America in this regard, and is the reason I am ashamed. We need a role model in the face of our increasingly negative media image.

And, yes, we can blame the media all we want, but, to me, that is running up the wrong hill. The media is what it is and will always be what it is. Trump could have still played their game and done something to gain attention the right way. Instead, in not saying anything, he let the alt right movement win the coverage and image battle. Which is pretty much exactly what they wanted all along.
