Wow congrats that's great:) .I assume u got a mailed welcome letter with the case number ? And instructions to make payments..case was approved on march 13,2018..my wife will call nvc next week..or should I emailed them? How long did it take before hearing from nvc?because on the approval letter were seeing were it says we should wait 30 days before contacting them .. Sorry for all d questions lol.gm:)

Call them. Also, when was your case sent to NVC? The NOA2 date is not the same as the date they send it to NVC. It takes about a week for NVC to receive the case after USCIS sends it. After that, they are quoting 8 weeks to get a case number.

I feel like I made a big mistake by choosing to marry my wife in her home country.  If I had only known that fiance visas are processed and completed roughly half a year sooner than CR1....

Oh WELL!

To be honest, even though it feels like it, I would say you are better off doing the CR1. I have seen cases of people doing K1 visa and then regretting not going the CR1 route. Although K1 will get your wife over to the US faster, all the problems that come later on are not worth it, in my opinion. Not to mention K1 is more expensive when you factor in Adjustment of Status, and the fact that your wife wouldn't be able to work or leave the country. I did consider the K1 but I eventually decided to suck it up and just do the CR1.

It took 5 weeks to get case number. I don’t call nvc a lot I only call them once a week but I did call them Monday and was told my case number wasn’t ready so I’m not sure if it was ready between Monday and Friday.

Good afternoon If I’m renewing my passport do u think it’s okay if Use my maiden name and married name? My paper work was done in my married surname but I’d like the keep my maiden name still and add my married name to it. Would it be a problem for the visa?

There have been plenty of documented cases of lawyers causing more time lost, actually. I guess we will just need to accept that some things are meant to happen and push on. With support from VJ members, of course! I think this site is the only thing keeping me sane in this walk through hell!

Still doesn't work! Wow... From what I understand, if the receipt number didn't get entered into the system at first, it should be in when NOA2 is sent. Not working even after NOA2 is quite rare. But in any case, yes, call NVC. You might want to put their number on speed dial because trust me, you will be doing a lot of calling :P I suspect my husband already knows some of the operators on first name basis!
