Oh WELL!

You are mistaken.  K-1 cases require almost as much time as CR-1 caes.

I thought the NVC stage for a K1 visa is 1 month or less. Versus what’s looking like 3-4 months in NVC for CR1.

While the NVC time for a K-1 might be shorter, the difference in total processing time is not 6 months on average.  Besides, considering all aspets, the CR-1 is far superior, imo.

 

K-1

    More expensive than CR-1

    Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)

    Spouse can not leave the US until she receives approved Advance Parole (approx 3-4 months)

    Spouse can not work until she receives EAD (approx 3-4 months)

    some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period .

    Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.

CR-1

    Less expensive than K-1

    No AOS required.

    Spouse can immediately travel outside the US

    Spouse can start work if desired

    Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card withing 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US

    Spouse  has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

 

All-in-all, the CR-1 is superior to the K-1 imo.

No, not true..Adjustment of Status applies only to K-1 marriages, not CR-1 marriages...maybe you mean Removal of Conditions......which can apply to either K-1 or CR-1 marriages.

United States transferred from April 1 the Immigrant Visas Process to CUBANS from Colombia consulate to Guyana!

Such a great news to me, I live in Bogota and here, processing the Colombian, Aruba and Cuba immigrant visas, my interview date will be way way back, and now everything is better,and also Cubans doesn´t need Visas to go to Guyana! The best for all!

I think its good news too. We have to wait for more details. Colombian embassy has more experience processing high volume of visas. Let's see what happen.

They will start to schedule interviews on June, the transference is effective from April 1.

I saw your time line. You got i130 approval on February and 13 days after received the case number... Nice!

Wow congrats that's great:) .I assume u got a mailed welcome letter with the case number ? And instructions to make payments..case was approved on march 13,2018..my wife will call nvc next week..or should I emailed them? How long did it take before hearing from nvc?because on the approval letter were seeing were it says we should wait 30 days before contacting them .. Sorry for all d questions lol.gm:)

Actually no. NVC received doesn't mean case number. It is just the date that NVC tells us they got our file. I don't think anyone is getting case number sooner than 5 weeks. I am at the 5 week mark, same date as @crissyfisher but I have no case number yet.
