U mean the ds 261 confirmation page? Or the nvc welcome letter which was emailed to my wife?

The NVC welcome letter comes with a cover sheet that has a barcode on it. That's the one you place on top of your documents that go to NVC :)

I should've posted it here, first, lol

OMG! So, I called the NVC, just now, to see if I have been given a case number. The first operator told me that my case was sent to CEAC (Pivot Case), and I needed to hang up and press option 5. Did that, and the operator told me that although I was approved April 19th, and the NVC received it on May 2nd, the approximate 8 week countdown starts when CEAC received my case, which was May 9th! She said it was how long it would take to do some data entry on a case...ummm.....what?! The heck you got to type that takes 8 weeks? It's electronic anyways, so let me type it, then, goodness! Just needed to vent, but I'm alright lol :)

If it helps at all, there have been cases of people who were told that their countdown starts from when CEAC receives their case, but they really didn't have to wait that long. So, there is hope. I cannot for the life of me figure out what they need to do that takes weeks to generate a case number.

Guys I have a question. If sounds silly sorry in advance. If Ds 261- is the choice of Agent then what is Ds 260 ?

DS-260 is the immigrant visa electronic application form. This is the form where the beneficiary provides his/her information. If you haven't seen what questions they ask, it might be a good idea to look here: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/DS-260 Exemplar.pdf

Some information could take time to retrieve. What @Jhonny did was to fill out all the information on a word document so that he can simply transfer it over when the time comes. Do note that not all the pages will apply to you though.

It's generally DS-261+AOS fee, then IV fee (although some people find that they can pay both AOS and IV fee at the same time). It is recommended to call NVC and have them review your DS-261 over the phone so they don't sit on it. Only when the review is done will you be able to pay your IV fee.

Yes, I did my medical test a couple of weeks back! I didn't get to escape the flu jab even though I told them I will not be entering during flu season. I had re-taken the other jabs earlier this year (Tdap, MMR 2 doses, varicella blood test) as it is cheaper to do it at the public clinic than the embassy appointed clinic.

We have appointed Attorney for the whole thing.I guess she will be doing all these behalf of us.Still I doubt she will.As sometimes seems like I know things better than her😁😁😁 .

But did u do the medical from public clinic? As per I know u have to do it from their own appointed clinics. And the vaccinations are something I'm scared of 😑😟

The medical exam itself has to be done at the appointed clinic. But vaccinations can be done elsewhere as long as you have the records to prove it.

Have read numerous stories of attorneys messing up/ sitting on things. Make sure you chase for it, and make sure you insist on the documents to be sent to NVC.

It really depends on how fast you get an interview date. Once you have case number, NVC goes pretty fast. But it is the interview date that's going to determine if you can get there by August. Keeping fingers crossed that you do!

Yes I hope so.Fingers crossed 🤞🤞 One more thing My parents want to go with me over there for a week.So if they apply for a separate visitor/tourist visa to be there which has nothing to do with visa will it be a problem?or they can do that?

Your parents will apply for a tourist visa on their on merits. Do you mean they will enter with you when you enter through a POE with your immigrant visa? One of the questions they ask in the DS-160 (non-immigrant visa) is whether the applicants have relatives in the US. I am not suggesting that is a red flag for denial but they certainly would look a lot more carefully in case of intent to overstay.

Yes this is what I was thinking too.But they basically think of not allowing people too often if they have " immediate relative" in the States. But they don't have any.And I am the one who will travel with them too.I guess I have to ask the Attorney about it .Will you be travelling alone?
