K1 Visa interview in Manila

Good day,

My fiancee is scheduled for her interview on the Aug 22nd and she is curious she can bring a hand bag and wear a watch to the interview. I know it seems like a bizarre question and I have called the US Embassy in Manila and they refer to a "what to bring" document that doesn't really specify much.

Any help from experience would be great!

Thanks,

Ryan & Daniella

Yes she can wear her watch, and yes she can bring her handbag ... NO electronics of any type.

Yes, you can wear a watch but for the handbag, it's much better if she'll have a companion to wait and look after her belongings outside the embassy. The things I brought inside were an envelope and clearbook full of my documents and evidences, a pen and money on one pocket and a lipstick on my other pocket, lol! Definitely no electronics of any type. Even a small usb will be a huge hassle if you bring one. My mom waited for me outside with my belongings at the time of my interview. Good luck!

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍

There is no issue bringing the handbag into the embassy (it will be searched of course), there is no reason to have someone hold it.  Most bring a handbag of sorts with all the documents for the interview (my wife did).  It does not have to be clear plastic.

Just NO electronics of any type.
