We wanted to share our experience after being helped by so many on this forum to understand the process for immigration.

We used the latest forms from the USCIS website, and followed the instructions documents to prepare this cover letter which we used as a checklist.

The forms have been updated since our filing so the below might be inaccurate but will help some I'm sure.

We purchased a 5 sleeve folder from walmart and a large padded envelope. Slipped the cover letter, money and G-1145 in the front cover.

Wrote the form numbers, the address and a return address on the envelope and sent with USPS to the relevant lockbox.

The I-864 was required as part of I-485.

Tips: make a personal copy of the entire pack before sending. Write N/A in CAPS wherever nothing required. Label all additional documentation. Check EVERYTHING before sending. Put passport photos in a ziplock bag and staple to a piece of paper.

Please bear in mind that I have provided the below to help others seek legal immigration and to help the USCIS office avoid additional work and do not intend to help others to "fast track" this key government process.

Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or Consular officer at a later date. Please feel free to contact either of us if you have any questions.
