K1/K2 visa interview

My wife has already done her interview and has been with me in the US for almost a year now. She had gotten her advanced parole and went back to the Philippines about 2 weeks ago. My step daughter was on the same I-129 and embassy forms as my wife and when we did the interview the first time, the embassy stated to come back within 1 year to prevent having to submit a new I-129. We are going to bring my step daughter over now and I am wondering if I have to be at the interview just like I was for my wife's visa interview as I may not be able to get off from work to travel? Is it possible that my wife, being a visa holder now, can just go to the interview without me and everything will be alright?
