My husband (US citizen) and I live in the US and I'm adjusting my status from F1. We got married in July but skipped the honeymoon for work related reasons. We had planned to go to South Africa in December/January for a month, but I feel like this green card application might interfere with our plan. Can I apply for an advanced parole just for traveling? Or do I need to add more reasons and proof on top of that? How strict are they with this?

Thanks for any info!

Nothing to worry about. That is what advanced parole (AP) is for. I think you are mistaking the reason for advanced parole for emergencies. You can certainly go on your honeymoon with it.

Tip: Try not to book anything that can't be changed or refunded until you have the AP in hand.
