2016 Hit Records For Global Temperature And Climate Extremes

Putting all the altered temperature data aside the raw data shows that 1936 is still the hottest year on record. I have not seen anyone provide a plausible explanation for why the raw temperature data had to be manipulated to get the result that 2016 was the hottest year on record.

Well 1936 was one of the hottest summers on record. However the 1936 winter was also an extremely cold one. Some people don't seem to realize (or may be misleading purposefully) that the annual global mean temperature measures the entire year over the entire world, and the variance from year to year is recorded from that. July 1936 had the hottest temperature average ever recorded for a single month. That doesn't make 1936 the hottest year on record. Similarly 1934 is the hottest year ever recorded in the continental USA. That doesn't make 1934 the hottest year on record either. Again we are talking about global temperature.

Consider for a minute that global mean temperature also accounts for ocean temperature. Like anything else, ocean temperature was not measured as accurately or as widely on 1936. Unlike some other readings though, the data shows universally that ocean temperature was cooler then. There is no argument to counter that. I'm not sure where you have been doing your reading or what you choose to believe, but we both have access to the same sets of data. Logically, it's difficult to come up with a scenario where the global mean temperature would be higher in years where 3/4 of the earths surface was consistently cooler.

But that does not match the agenda.

We are not talking about global temperatures, we are talking about the US temperatures.  Regardless, like in Australia, they are cherry picking their data to further their narrative, but what else is new in the Church of "Global Cooling", no "Global Warming", no "Manmade Climate Change".

Seems to be global wetting at the moment, everything is so green, talking to some people who grew up around here and they did not rember seeing it so green.

Ranchers are happy, plenty of grass.

I wonder if it has anything to do with more plant food in the air?  I believe the Climate Changers would prefer to go back to the dust bowl.

I know what you mean, I don't remember a cooler July/August in the Michigan area for a lot of years.  In fact all Summer, I think I only turned the AC on 6 or 7 times.

My boss was in Colorado last week taking his daughter to school @ Univ. Of Colorado Boulder, he said one day the temp dropped about thirty degrees and they ended up with a couple inches of hail. Way too early for that.

No snow or frost where I am and can only imagine he went up on Trail Ridge? May have dipped into the upper 30's one night.

Not sure of his exact location, but he said it was crazy how quickly the temp dropped.
