Hello, I'm just looking for a little encouragement and help with filing our I 129 F. From the form itself I know I'll need copies of my birth certificate and passport. I'm unclear on what a certificate of naturalization is though, or a certificate of citizenship or of the statement by a US consular officer saying I'm a US citizen and have a valid passport. Can anyone explain to me what these things are? I'm a bit lost on them if someone has already had this experience.

I'm also curious what/how much evidence of the in person meeting is good and necessary from you guys that have done this already. We met and have lots of pictures together and some with family too.

I don't see anything about the documentations I'll need to include from my fiance besides her picture. That can't be right, right? What else do I need to include there?

I have one other question so far. I was charged with a felony when I was 17 which was a misunderstanding about a couple kids in a being renovated school on a weekend night playing around, that was dropped to a fine and taken off my record. What are opinions as to whether I should include this in my criminal history?

Thank you so much everyone! This site is awesome!

On supporting documents, refer to VJ K-1 guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

If you are a born US citizen, you do not need naturalization or certificate of citizenship. Your US birth cert would suffice.

For photos, submit a mix from various period or events, with and without family members. As for the quantity, some submit a ton, some submit 10 or less. It's up to you.

As for the old dropped felony charge, others would be able to advise accordingly :)

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

It asks whether you were ever charged or convicted of a felony and you have been so you need to answer truthfully. If necessary, attach proper documentation regarding the case (like charges being dropped) and a statement outlining what happened.
