i am still unclear why the moving of a thread to an appropriately defined forum is causing so much confusion. what am i missing?

Nothing! If a thread is moved to the forum that it's best suited for, then the right people will, in theory, run accros the post and read it. RESTATED: A members generates a post that does not match a forum, the post is moved to the appropriate forum, and a place holder will remain in the so others can view the post that was moved. Where is all the confusion coming from? Who knows? Maybe some members have a hard time dealing with change. Or it's an ego thing... like dahamn-it I put the post there and there it should stay. LOL!

Yeah. It's not like 80% of newbies ever read the guides/search anyhow...

It goes back to my idea of newbies cannot post for a week after joining.

Why do you harbour such disdain for " newbies"? Your recent comments [this and other recent threads] read like you consider new members as something of a nuisance.

Excuse me if I am reading your words incorrectly, but your choice of words really do seem to express the feeling of real irritation at newer members; when really because of attrition of established members, a steady influx of new members will actually keep this site's membership numbers growing..which will in time, keep the site alive.

Would you have been OK with not being able to post for a week after joining?

What if you had a question or comment that was not covered by the guides?
