Can we get her a temporary Employment Authorization at POE or is there any other way to start working right away after arrival in the US?

We was planning to marry, then get her SSN. It that a good start?

Not if you're flying through LAX. JFK is the only POE consistently giving the stamp.

meow mix is correct, JFK is the only consistant temp EAD stamper.

Its said to be best to wait 2 weeks or so after entry to apply for SSN#, so that you are in the computer system.I waited two weeks and it was just fine. You CAN apply before that, you may have to wait longer though due to having to maually finding you. Aslong as you apply before the 2 weeks anniversary of your I-94 expiring.

Otherwise, you can apply for an EAD if you dont get one at the POE however,it'll only be valid untill the I-94 runs out (90 days), however you'd be lucky if you got the EAD in that time, they take about 90 days to obtains, so thats a waste of money.

Your better off getting married soon after entry and submitting AOS including EAD.

In addition to getting an EAD at the POE your fiancee would need to apply for her SS card immediately in order to start working right away.

It's sometimes less hassle for a woman to apply for her SS card before marriage and in the name that's on her immigration documents.
