What did the refusal letter say?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Knowing the date of birth of grandparents is not something that most 12 year olds know. I think that was probably just some random question they asked but already had made their decision.

I would be more incline to think that the mother just gave you an answer to keep the child from traveling. It's possible she thinks your husband will not return him to her. Can't say I blame her.

That wouldn't have been the reason it was denied.

Sheezuss!!!  I don't know my parents birth dates let alone my grandparents birth dates and I'm 60 years old!  Perhaps you are not getting the entire story because that just makes no sense at all.  I wish you all well.  God Bless,  David

Hi. It happened the same thing with my step daughter, but they also denied my in laws. Second time when my mother in law went for her interview, she was approved and as far as we understand they believed my mother in law was coming to bring her granddaughter.  I talked to a lawyer and her advise was to start an applications for a relative to come. That is what we did. We are still waiting 10 months later, but there is nothing else to do.
