Technically all the K1 stipulates is that you have met at least once in the last two years. You will need proof of this.

From reading other people's experiences on here I believe Mexico can be a tricky embassy but by no means crazy difficult.

Ensure you have sufficient evidence of an ongoing relationship, and be prepared for questions regarding the sudden urge to get married because you have only met once and been together a short time.

Best of luck!

It really varies from case to case and embassy to embassy. Many people have been approved after just one face to face meeting and only 6 months of being together. Others that have been dating for years and met multiple times have been denied.

For the I-129F, you're fine with just 1 meeting and only 6 months being together. USCIS won't even look at the relationship evidence....it will be forwarded with your packet, after approval, to the embassy.

In many cases, meeting only once and filing shortly afterwards is considered a red flag. Red flags aren't a reason for denial, but they must be overcome with sufficient relationship evidence. How long was your first meeting with her (i.e. did you visit for a week? a few weeks? a month? more?).

If you're worried about relationship evidence, then I suggest.meeting again while waiting for your case to process. And if at all possible, go to the interview with her. I don't think Juaraz permits the petitioner at the actual interview (at least that's what I've read), but you can give your passport to her and she can show it at the interview as proof that you are there.

Good luck.

You meet the prerequisites for filing the petition; you can do that now if that is what you truly want. While waiting for the approval, diligently and proactively collect everything that proves that relationship is real and ongoing.

Though not a requirement; it may be not a bad idea to meet again (or even meet a few times), and preload the petition with photos and documents showing the relationship continuity.

Do read reports about other people experiences with the particular consulate that you plan on using.

Good luck.

My partner and I met at the beginning of April 2015 and filed I-129 in September 2015 --- 5 months after we met. In addition to visiting in April 2015, I visited again in May and August 2015, as well as January 2016. I also accompanied him to the interview in April 2016. I flew back in May 2016, when visa was approved and he flew back to Miami with me. Along with all this, we were able to show phone calls (primarily me to him via AT&T), samples of whatsapp chats, photos, and some money transfers. From time the I-129 was received (end of September 2015) until time he arrived in U.S. (mid-May 2016) was less than 8 months (and we were even delayed 2 months while he waited for follow up to positive tb screen).

We were initially worried that our short relationship time would be viewed negatively, but we decided to let the evidence speak for itself --- and it did in a very positive way.

Best to you!

Timeline

Met about a month before I filed - I flew to Russia for a five day vacation.

Then we went to Vietnam.  Then we went to Cabo (twice).  We then have a trip scheduled for China next week.

The way I looked at it is that a US citizen is asking permission of his Government to allow a woman to apply for a Visa to come to the US.

Unless there is some ulterior motive, and when it comes time for her to apply for a Visa, we should be fine as proof if an ongoing relationship should be easy enough to prove :)

You should be alright. I know someone who filed even only after 6months of knowing each other. Met once. They got approved last January and they are currently processing their AOS

As long as the relationship is legit and you have sufficient proof to support your claim of a bonafide relationship, there should be no issue at all. Try to frontload your case with evidences as much as you can. Photos, screenshots of convos, boarding pass, copy of passport stamps, receipts in the restaurant where you dined, letters from family and friends who are witnesses to your relationship could help too, hotel bookings, itinerary for the flight when you visited him or vice versa, etc.

Just be honest. And the paperworks will back you up. :)

They will look at the whole picture. Age plays a factor too - couples who are older may move things along faster than younger couples. My husband and I were 38 and 45 when we met and we made the decision to marry very quickly. Also, if your cultures are similar (are you also Hispanic?) then this helps to overcome a short relationship time. Do you speak the same language? Are you the same religion? They will look at a variety of factors, not just how long you have known each other. The major red flags are very large age differences (particularly where US females are much older than the foreign men), not speaking the same language (especially if the beneficiary can barely speak English), being of religions with conflicting beliefs, and vast sums of money flowing between the two (especially if the beneficiary is sending money to the petitioner - can look like they are paying for a visa).

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Just in case you weren't aware.

The acceptance of the I129F isn't acceptance of the case, it's basically that you've been granted permission to apply for the visa.

Best of luck to you :)
