Okay so i received are RFE saying that I had submitted secondary evidence/affidavit of my birth and it is insufficient.

I sent them a original of a certified entry which is what you get in the UK and what is provided by The government when you request your birth certificate from them. The only thing my parents have is a certificate of birth but it has only my name and date i was born. The one I have sent them is the exact same as what I used for the K1. I'm confused as this is not secondary evidence. On the RFE it says I must provide something like

church records with both parents names... I dont have church records as I'm not religious and never been involved on the church.

School records with place of birth and both parents names... I dont have school records that provide that kind of info and my school doesn't exist anymore anyway.

Hospital records of my birth... When you speak to the hospital they direct you straight to the government website to get a copy of your birth certificate. They don't have such a record of my birth 27 years ago.

So I have called them and they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot. I have to arrange an appointment to let them look at my case file and see whether they think it is good enough and if not what I can get.

Here is my question... has anyone had one of these info pass appointments and if so what should I expect and what was yours for.

I'm after other people's experiences to help me

Thanks

Were you ever baptised?  The church you were baptised in would have a record/certificate to show you and your parents' names.

What they mean by hospital records is your mom's delivery/discharge papers---which would show your name on it as well.  Can you contact the hospital you were born in and see if they can provide you with a copy of this?

Can you get letter from the Department of Education where you went to elementary/highschool stating any admission info they may still have, even though the school itself is closed?

If all else fails, ask them at the infopass if you can provide a sworn affidavit from both of your parents as to your birth details.

Does the one you have show both your parents names?

If not then you need to order the long birth certificate, if it does then sorry I have no clue!

I sent the long one and they had no problem.

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I don't understand why a affidavit from my parents would be more effective than my actually birth cert.

It is the long version i sent with all my information on it and my parents info too including their place of birth.

It's also great (sarcastic) that I asked on the phone if these infopasses were Monday to Friday and she said yes. That was a lie its everyone other Wednesday and that's it. I'm screwed on how i am supposed to get there since im not allowed to drive here anymore, and everyone is at work on a Wednesday and we all know how rubbish the time off from work is in the US.

Another good amount of time with more stress added

It sounds like they need to look it over again (what you sent). They gave you the list  of things if you have no birth certificate, for example the records were destroyed in a war. That's a generic list. Get a new one and take it to show at an Infopass or mail in a photocopy. Next time don't mail off your only copy of anything. You will need your birth certificate again for the next thing.

Order what? My birth certificate?

If this is what you mean no I ordered it from the UK government website for official records.

I thought you said earlier that you mailed off the only copy so didn't have another to send. I must have misunderstood. Send again and explain it is valid and exactly where it came from.
