Hi All,  I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with.

For the I-134, I have the employment verification letter, paystubs are handy.  Do I really need a letter from the bank?  What should it contain?  Do they need the entire 3 years tax returns or just the summary page?  Anything else?

Is there a police certification required for Vietnam?  If so, maybe we can get this done ahead of time.

I know we can't do the medical checks or immunizations until we have an interview date set.  Or am I wrong?

Can we do the DS-160's ahead of time, or do we need to wait for the NVC number?

Anything else I might have missed?  I'm kind of , er definitely a worrier, and I want to make sure as many of my T's are crossed as possible for the inevitable crises.   I'm hopeful our NOA2 will be here in a few more weeks.

 Thanks so much everyone!

For the police record check, your fiance needs the Judicial Certificate #2 (or Criminal Record Certificate#2).  Make sure they understand you want #2, not #1.  My fiance has been given the #1 record twice, which is for student visas.  In Lam Don't, it has taken 3-4 weeks each time.

The certificate is good for 1 year.

 Thanks so much everyone!

Bank letter: Not necessary if your annual income meets the poverty guideline. If you plan to get the letter, then it should has info like date account opened, total amount deposited for the past year and present balance.

Tax returns: Download the complete tax transcripts from IRS website. Every page of each transcript.

Police certificate: This is definitely needed. Specifics, please refer to the post before me.

Medical: Generally speaking, yes, you can only schedule one once you have an interview date. This could be embassy specific.

DS-160: Yes, you can do it ahead of time and even pay the visa fee of $265 after that. Fee payment is valid for a year. On the DS-160 itself, you don't need the NVC number, just your WAC number.

Letter of intent!! You need to provide a new one to your fiancee. Make sure it is dated closer to the interview date. Not sure about HCMC but my local embassy requires it to be dated within the last 30 days prior to the interview date.

Always good to refer to http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide :)

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Awesome information from both. Thanks so much. This will help to avoid any further delays.

Hi Mike, how is your case status ? have you got NOA2 yet ?

Once you got approved, just wait for the letter of NVC for about 20-25 days, or you can call NVC to got the case number after NOA2 ~ 2weeks

For my case, I and my US fiance were just relax, we didnt call any to NVC because the NOA2 letter mentioned very clearly that we should wait for around 3 weeks or 30 days latest to get case no from NVC letter.

I got the packet 3 (which is instruction letter and case number) in saigon before my US fiance received letter from NVC. Meaning you dont need to be hurry anything, the processing will be very quick and the NVC as well as US Consular in Saigon did a very good timeline of it after NOA2.

So back to the packet 3, when your fiancee got the instruction letter, they clearly told you to download the K-instruction from the link in letter. Download it and follow step by step. It is very clearly instruct you how to check case status and what is next step's requirement.

Regards to DS160, once you case no, check case status. If the case show READY then you can start filling DS160. If it is not READY, you can't fill DS160. After you finish DS160, print it out + copy of your fiancee passport + 2 visa photo => send to the US Consular in Saigon.

Next step is you will create an account for paying the fee (its about 6,095,000vnd), after creating account: at the last step you will see the payment instruction letter with barcode....print it out + DS160 confirmation then go to the post office and pay visa fee. And wait for the next day for account active. Once account is actived, you then can arrange and continue booking date for interview. You can only see the interview calendar after your account is actived. Once you click on and confirm the date of your interview, a screen of APPOITMENT CONFIRMATION will be showed then, print it out or click to send to you email for a copy. This one + Instructiion letter (pkt3) each one 2 copyies for going to hospital. You can't arrange health check if you dont these 2 copy document, the doctor will refuse to check your health if you miss brining these for doctor.

You can ask me if you have any questions because I am just done these above steps. My interview will be August 30. Hope this help :)
