Hello. I need some help re my medical in SLEC yesterday. I am under K1 visa. During the physical exam, the doctor asked if i drink alcohol and I said no. I was too focused of saying NO because I dont drink anymore (last was 2011) without realizing that what she was asking about was my history. I only thought about this when I arrived home. I know I would undergo personal evaluation because I admitted that I saw a psychologist and that the diagnosis was anxiety and depression. I dont smoke and never used any illegal drugs. The cause was too personal and I cannot disclose here. I am going to see St. Lukes' psychiatrist on Aug. 15 and very positive that I would pass the evaluation.

Here is my issue: When I filled out the Psychiatry form, there was a part where I need to disclose my history on alcohol intake and I filled that out but when the doctor during the physical exam asked me re my alcohol history i said NONE. I was inconsistent. It was an honest mistake on my part. Will i have any issue on my visa interview? Is it possible that i would get a visa denial?

I hope you could all help me guys.

Thanks so much in advance.

Basic rule during this process; always tell the truth.

If you don't have issues with the evaluation I don't see it being an issue later for the interview.

Don't stress.  Be honest with your answers.

Do have everything as required for the interview.

I don't think alcohol will be an item that will get you denied. But, like Hank said be honest in your answers.  Another bit of knowledge to know is don't volunteer information during any interview including but not limited to Embassy, SLEC or CFO. Wait till the question is asked then answer honestly. Volunteering information can sometimes lead to a disastrous outcome. Good luck on the remainder of your journey.

If the alcohol issue comes up, tell the psych doctor that you misunderstood the question and that it was an honest mistake.  That's the truth.  Best of luck to you!
