EAD and AP

Hi guys! So, I filed for AOS on April 10th, got my I-485 NOA on April 14th, and my EAD NOA on May 8th. 

 

In mid June, I sent the docs for my AP based on my peding AOS, and received the NOA on June 21st (Thought I wouldn't need the AP before). I recently found out that the EAD and AP come on the same card, so I'm wondering if I should still be expecting my EAD card soon an then getting my AP later, or have to wait for my EAD according to my AP timeline to receive both together?

You'll probably receive your AP separately from your EAD since there's two months in between the filing dates. They are two different applications and arenot attached to each other, so no, you won't have to wait longer to get your EAD just because the AP is two months behind.

That's why I'm wondering if my AP timeline is now my EAD timeline as well, meaning that my EAD is gonna take even longer because I filed the AP in June, two months after the AOS (I-485 & I-765)...

No your EAD won't take longer, Hypnos probably thinks your AP might be faster instead.

Basically, your I-765 application has been sitting in a cabinet somewhere. Now your I-131 is too. Sometimes when USCIS go to adjudicate one or the other and see you have a pending I-485, they'll check to see if you have a pending EAD or AP application too so that they can put them on the same card. 

 

No idea if this is what will happen here. 

 

Worst-case scenario is that you just receive a separate paper AP. They are just as valid as the ones endorsed onto the EAD.
