And I can tell you I have sold many a Prius to the tree huger set. I think I mentioned I told one the other day,  some studies suggest it may have a bigger environmental foot print, than non hybrid cars.

I'm not under any delusions that the hybrid SUV I drive makes me "green". I got it via employee discount and priced just as a buddy who got a non-Limited (non-hybrid) version got theirs. All prices equal, and living in a city of 1.5 million people, the choice for me was pretty clear.

I think many people forget that to produce anything artificial, we use natural resources which means mining, drilling, extracting, distilling, etc.  As @IAMX said we cannot control where those resources are located, or how they choose to extract them, but this situation is indeed sad for the people being exploited.

You can have an opinion of "the people should try to do something" instead of adding you don't see what's so sad.
