Okay I’m basically talking to myself, but how in the world did the double D Diva lady get her fiancé’s visa within TWO MONTHS?! Or did I hear that wrong?

(I’m still just hella bitter since our CR1 took 1.5 years to go through. Because of backlogs.)

I haven't seen the episode, but there were some really fast K1s in the last few years.  Like 14-20 day I-129f approval.

Something similar happened when we were getting the CR1 - some people got their I-130s approved in under three weeks, others with the same filing date took 6+ months.  Completely random...like pulled the wrong stack of paperwork random.

So it seems like Larry is an a hole later with Jenny’s family, but he was adorable when he first met them. He was all like “I like your nature and goats, it’s pretty” He was trying so hard to be nice and was very accepting of their situation. (Unlike Chantel’s family!!!!)

Yeah Larry really blew it with Jenny's family, i actually felt bad for her. He was acting so child like, isn't what they were serving just like a pig roast, filipino style?

I must have missed the 2 months thing, I only watched the "before the 90 Days" episode.

Larry is sweet, he is trying so hard and still makes mistakes.  Probably didn't read up much on Phils customs and culture.  If they end up marrying, she will definitely be the boss!

Me and my wife started watching this show now, and the spin-off one....one thing I've noticed is they seem to add to the drama (the whole scene in where Karina gets "robbed" by a guy wielding a machete, so fake looking), and Paul It think if its true he is a convicted arsonist is just plain weird. The other younger couple with wife from Progue (they blur out the baby that is clearly darker skinned color and the couple don't really interact with supposedly their baby). And it just overall doesn't seem real, but hey who can truly be yourself with a camera shoved in your face while your trying to meet someone and their family, let alone people around them. I think the producers change up the scenario to add the drama (the guy that flew to Paris to meet his girlfriend who come to find out has a boyfriend (that of course is no where to be seen) I'm guessing they will end up being together (which would have been that way anyways but they just thought it would give it a twist. Anyways, I do like some of the couples and it makes for some very  interesting tv, haha.

It is a VERY traditional Philippines pig roast over a open fire (pig is usually on a rotisary) and yes it is expensive for the majority of Filipinos. My father in law buys a young pig about 1-2 months prior to any special event like birthdays or anniversaries and like Jenny said in the show it shows respect for you to eat it. He really was disrespectful and not sure why he couldn't see this. His whole approach was really awkward, fly in and barely meet her then ask the father for the hand of his daughter within the first conversation/meeting. (but I'm guessing this is all made up or the producers really speeding up the process, I don't know).

I was thinking the same thing, how on earth did they get his visa so fast! I'm thinking the show might be warping the timelines a little bit and not conveying the real story.

These people choose to put themselves out there on television knowing full well that everything is going to be edited with lots of drama... it's entertainment.  In a way it's a mockery of the entire process so I don't feel bad at all making comments about what is presented on television.  All of us watching the show shake our heads in disbelief yet we continue watching...

Yeah I agree, it's sad how they make it sound like the process is suppose to be a 90 day trial run of getting to know someone, live together and get married all within the 90 days! They keep forcing this instead of stating that in reality most couples have known each other for years and already know they want to get married because they actually know the person. But it's WAY more entertaining to show all the drama and immature couples who it seems really to meet each other and expect to figure it all out in 90 days, only having met once or twice in person. Yes I keep watching to, lol.

That whole scene where she got "mugged" was so fake....the guy running at her with a machete and the camera guy yelling she's getting mugged, then they guy runs just off the screen behind the trees where the police just happen to be and a gun shot goes off, lol! Must be awkward for the couples when the producers ask them to do some acting and change the story line.

I am sure some of it is scripted, but Larry has been a constant neurotic mess since the beginning of the show. He's desperate and if he slowed down things may work better.

Larry is the new Paul.  This guy has become my favorite.  He is so awkward and nervous.  The whole bowing/hand kiss and then a full open (sideways) hug to Jenny's "Papa" is very bizarre and over the top.  As for the food.  I too don't like to eat at strangers houses.  I get kind of grossed out but when I first went to my in-laws common sense (I didn't need to study customs/culture) told me that it would be disrespectful to not eat the food they prepared for my visit.  Even though it was difficult, I ate every bite.  I think with him, it's that's he's never left the states, doesn't seem like he's very educated, so he justs didn't think about it.

Asking for the daughter's hand in marriage with 10 minutes of the first meeting even freaked the father out.

You can see episode 2 of the new 90 Day couples. Y'all, this teenager needs a swift kick to the teeth. As she's waiting for her Spanish fiance to come out of his interview, she explains to her mother that "7 out of 10 people who do this are frauds" (in response to mom's question about how likely he is to get the visa).

This, the girl who was approached on Instagram by a much older foreign guy when she was underage and who has known him less than a year (their planned wedding is/was before their 1 year mark) and who has spent only 2 weeks in his presence. And yet her only concern is the 70% of OTHER couples who will make their visa harder.

So many words that would get blacked out here. So many.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!
