Hello,

A K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, seen as an immigrant visa, as the intent is to immigrate. Does this mean I have to fill in the DS-260 form? The package received from the embassy said to fill in the DS-160 form and send back the confirmation page, which I did. However, the embassy's checklist, mentions to bring the DS-260, and doesn't mention the DS-160. The checklist is the one referred by the state.gov website...

So now I am very confused, do I have to do the DS-260 as well?

Thanks for your help!

Not sure about the DE K-1 Packet 3 but my local Packet 3 is an immigrant visa checklist which covers K visas and other types of immigrant visas. So in that same checklist, they pretty much mentioned about DS-160 and DS-260 at the same time. I hated reading the Packet 3 because it was a little confusing given the mixture of stuff. However, I am certain that K-1 only requires the DS-160 :) Thank goodness for VJ, otherwise I wouldn't have known either.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
