law graduate is suing Oxford University for loss of earnings after completing her degree a year late due to mental health problems, as experts report a surge in lawsuits from a generation of students who are "aware" of their rights.

Catherine Dance, 24, claims she was forced to take a year-long break from her law degree because staff at Jesus College refused to allow special arrangements for her exams.

She has sued the college for psychological harm and loss of earnings, claiming that she sacrificed a year's potential salary from a lucrative graduate job.

Miss Dance, who was diagnosed with chronic anxiety and depression in 2009, was allowed to sit her A-Levels in a private room and with a laptop. But Jesus College would not permit the same treatment, she claims.

Lucrative job?

You check accommodations before you go to a school..

Pretty much annihilated the idea that she'd have lost a years worth of earnings, clearly puts no effort into anything, so likely would have never found a job anyways.

Dismiss.

Jesus Christ....my lord and savior.

She will waste another year and still be thinking of another scam to pull off so she doesn't actually have to get a job.

I, personally, would not attend a post-secondary named Jesus College expecting equivalent accommodations to other post-secondary schools.

Even then, it's on her to research accommodations. I did this before I attended SJSU and SAIT. I got accommodations for my severe ADHD, such as private quiet testing room, extended time, food and drink. I would not have attended a post-secondary that wouldn't have accommodated my problems.

Of course, entitled millennials seem to think its up to others to do everything for them, so I can understand why she's suing others for her laziness.

I agree, I wonder if any employers reading this article will be very interested.

My favorite part of the article is:

"He said that the introduction of £9,000 tuition fees was another factor. “If you’re paying £9,000 a year, you want to ensure that you are receiving a kind of service that allows you to maximise your outcome,”"

~$12,000 dollars per year for Oxford University. Oh the humanity.

They should try going to University in the USA and see how much it costs. What's Harvard these days? $45,000 without room and board?

I believe in reasonable accomodations being made. That being said, I don't really see how having certain medical diagnoses entitles you to very specific things. Chronic Anxiety and Depression, therefore you get to use a laptop? There is a disconnect there. Private room, sure. More time, absolutely. Not sure how a laptop is going to make her anxiety suddenly disappear.

Sounds way too anecdotal.

The total 2016-2017 cost of attending Harvard College without financial aid is $43,280 for tuition and $63,025 for tuition, room, board, and fees combined.

Dos that include a safe space and towel to suck on?

well it looks like for 63,025 you get a room. but you probably have to bring your own towel.

I feel a class action law suite coming...

Free Trump-induced therapy classes, cry-ins, snuggy and pillow parties/sleepovers, 24/7 CNN, and entitlement workshops where they teach you how to cry about not getting your dream job with a worthless liberal arts degree. Complementary white privilege courses that you can ace by learning to self-loathe and excuse the dumb (often criminal) behavior of minorities and leftists in general. #MillennialsLeadingByExample

Of course, people at Ivy league schools tend to also have connections through their family and friends, which is more important than the degree, so at very least they can get a wealthy paying job while their layabout admirers can gawk at them on TV and grow a psychologically unhealthy attachment to celebrity+politician persona, while hoping for more free stuff from the government.
