I unfortunately lost my green card early this year. I still curse that day and am certain it was thrown away with some junk mail.
Filed for a replacement in March and had my biometrics two weeks later.

During the time waiting, I have booked flights for me and my wife to go back to England for a short stay. I've been feeling homesick and missing family.

The flight is three weeks away and the case status still says "In Process - Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review."

I am ready to book an info pass appointment at a USCIS office with the earliest appointment date.

This is what its telling me I need to take.

  • Valid passport (HAVE)
  • InfoPass appointment notice (WILL HAVE)
  • Form I-90 receipt notice - Is this just the downloadable form on my USCIS account? Nothing was mailed to me
  • Proof of residence within the jurisdiction of the USCIS office; - Do I have to go to my nearest USCIS? What do I need to provide?
  • Copy of expired/lost green card (if available); - Have a picture of the front on my phone, will that work?
  • Documents evidencing the need for the I-551 stamp, if request is based on an emergency walk-in (i.e. flight itinerary, doctor’s letter or death certificate, along with evidence of the relationship to an ill or deceased relative; company letter if emergency travel is work-related, etc.); Does it have to be an emergency to obtain a stamp?
  • Copy of date-stamped ASC appointment notice evidencing biometrics capture (if applicable). (HAVE)

Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do? Really don't want to have to cancel my flights

The first part of what you quoted answers this..."IF the request is based on an emergency walk-in..."  Yours is not an emergency walk-in, so that doesn't apply to you :)

Drivers licence, State ID card should suffice.

If the printout has a barcode on it, it should suffice.

If that's all you have....like they said "if available", so the photo is better than nothing.

You are brilliant! Thank you.
One slight issue, my driving license has expired and I cannot obtain a new one without a green card. Bit of a catch 22!
I don't have any other state issued ID, what could I do at short notice? Would the expired license work?

Probably not, for USCIS.

Do you have pay stubs showing your address?  Utility bills?

Yes multiple, is that acceptable? I presumed they always needed something with a photo

Photo ID is always better, but you can't provide what you don't have.

Plus, your photo is in your passport as proof of your name (don't forget to bring that), and bring along the expired driver's licence just in case since it's still your current address (as shown on your bills, etc.)

Anyone with two brain cells could match your name in your passport with the I-90, and then your name and address in the verification documents you bring.

Let's hope you get someone with at least two brain cells.

All fixed! Memphis USCIS were great!
They searched my A number and said "Oh, you're fine".
Stamped my passport and I was gone within 5 minutes.
The 9 hours driving today wasn't nice but definitely good to know I'll be able to travel next month

There is a USCIS office in Nashville but there are NEVER any appointments free.
I just bit the bullet and went to Memphis, good to know they are there if I need anything in the future.

Did you see Elvis?
