Why is that?  Do you have any papers discussing this?

Well, you can take a quick google to find lots of examples about it. But overall since the birth of the internet and increased emphasis on tech communication - rather than old fashioned methods such as letter writing, phone calls, and face to face time.. things just aren't the way they used to be. Internet communication and txting is the rage and with that technology available, people are becoming more isolated from one another and unable to actually communicate properly. Instead of a Happy Birthday phone call or card, it's the Happy Birthday txt message... the context of speech and complex ideas are simply half-thoughts spaced into Twitter's character limit. I can't even remember the last time one of my other siblings has actually called my Mom. She has to txt someone else (yep still won't call them either) to ask how she is. Do we even offer creative writing or communication courses to kids anymore? Technology is increasingly providing less human interaction with each other, rather than more. My husband and I went to a local place a few weeks ago to eat and the only human interaction we had was via the hostess, the bartender, and the person who brought out the food. Menus were already on the table, each spot has it's own mini computer you order food directly from and pay for it too. Some studies have also shown that if people tend to only develop relationships solely online from an early age, they increasingly find it more difficult to communicate with each other face to face. The less physical talking and inability to communicate with someone you do, the less humans will want to do it. I'm pretty introverted, so you won't find me as the life of the party, but it absolutely drives me crazy when kids.. and adults for that matter, simply have no communication skills whatsoever. That really translates into pretty bad customer service skills too. And who wants to deal with people like that, if you can interact with a computer? https://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/27/opinion/sunday/stop-googling-lets-talk.html

For example, 99% of Americans have cell phones, but spend 26 minutes per day texting and only 6 minutes on calls. In fact, the first ever decline in global mobile voice usage occurred in 2013 and that trend is likely to continue. How does your talking and texting stack up against the averages?

This may not come as a shock, but about 1 out of every 4 people socializes more online than in person, 32% of people would rather text you than talk to you, and a whopping 51% of teens would rather communicate digitally than in person (even with friends). http://attentiv.com/we-dont-speak/

now folks, this is the part in the show where alex jones starts screaming about fema camps and biodegradable coffins. whatever shall we do with all the useless people?

Anything to make Alex drop over at his desk...

I tend to think useless people don't become so useless anymore with a good education and access to skills to enable them to learn a trade.

Trump: "Great thread!!!  I love taking credit for Clinton's laws.  I love it so much that I made hyyyuge cuts to food stamps in my 2018 budget.  But no one will go hungry.  Those hungry children will just have to get a job like the rest of us."

we cannot just spend Money on food for hungry people just because it sounds good, what we need to do is get analysis on what our money is buying us, what about a little compassion for the taxpayer?
