first time travelling with the visa

Hi all,

 

So i have my visa in my passport, sold the house, quit my job and tied up all my loose ends and ready to start my new life. This may seem like a really silly question and i think i already know the answer but i just want to confirm.

I don't need to get an ESTA?? my visa for entry serves as such, right?

You don't need ESTA If you have a visa.

Yes. The visa is your valid travel document (in conjunction with the passport). An ESTA is only used for travel under the VWP.

Do a search on the site about experiences at the POE. They usually take you to a separate room to check all your paperwork.

That's not true... I just got into the country on Friday through JFK and i wasn't taken to any separate room.. The officer at the airport took my packet, asked a few questions and stamped my passport and allowed me entry.
