Hi all!  My fiancé (now husband) arrived on June 23rd on a K1 Visa and we were married this past Friday on August 4.  We are looking to file for AOS by the end of the week so I am working on the cover letter and compiling supporting documents.  I think I remember reading that the form G-325A is not required anymore with the new I-485.  Am I correct in this or did I read that about the new I-129f?  So many forms and applications to keeps straight...  ha.  I cant for the life of me remember where I saw that but I want to make sure that I am sending everything we need!

On that note.. If anyone has a list of the documents sent for AOS recently that they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!

That would be me, I wrote this list and posted it in the July 2017 Filers Thread. As we were some of the first to file using the new I-485 there was a lot of confusion on what exactly is needed. There is one error in it. If you submit Tax Transcripts (USCIS preferred method), then you DO NOT need to submit your W-2s as the information is already in the transcript. On the other hand, if you submit copies of your Tax Returns, then you need to include all applicable W-2s and/or 1099s. Also, I forgot to include a cover letter in that list.

We have had our biometrics, but it will likely not be until next year when we get the GC.

Whoops, that is another thing missing from the list. I included the DS-3025 with my packet.

Here is an updated and corrected list for anyone who comes across it:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. I-485 - Adjustment of Status Application
  3. Evidence requested with I-485
    a.       Copy of Passport Biographic Page
    b.       Copy of I-797 “NOA2” from K1 Visa Application
    c.       Copy of Electronic I-94 Electronic Page
    d.      Copy of K1 Visa and Entry stamp from passport
    e.      Copy of Immigrants birth certificate (with English Translation, if applicable)
    f.       Copy of Marriage Certificate
    g.      If applicable, copy of Divorce Certificate(s) for previous marriage(s) of either the Immigrant or the US Citizen
  4. Copy of DS-3025 Vaccine page from K1 Medical Exam in lieu of I-693
  5. I-864 - Affidavit of Support
  6. Evidence requested with I-864

    a.      2016 Tax Transcript* for the US Citizen

    b.      2015 Tax Transcript* for the US Citizen

    c.      2014 Tax Transcript* for the US Citizen

    d.      Five most recent pay stubs for US Citizen

    e.      Letter from employer indicating salary and employment details for US Citizen

  7. I-131 - Application for Advanced Parole (including supplement if you plan more than one trip).
  8. I-765 - Application for Employment Authorization Document
  9. Your fee including the biometrics fee.
  10. 6 Pictures (2 for I485 and 2 each for I131 and I765).

* Tax transcripts are USCISs preferred method for evidence of income in the I-864, but copies of tax returns are also acceptable instead, as long as all applicable W-2s and/or 1099's for that year are included with the copy.

No, we did not send anything like that. Like I said, we submitted only what was listed. We submitted all in one envelope, using easy to remove binder clips to keep each document together (DO NOT use staples, they hate that).

No, not for K1 .. make sure you use the latest I-129F form though !

EDIT: sorry, just read fiance, didn't read the whole thing. So not sure about AOS yet, I'm only at K-1 stage.

Im Just starting to fill out paperwork for our K1 visa right now! So we do not need to fill out the G-325A anymore, correct? We just need the passport photos now?

I am in Brazil visiting my fiancée right now and leaving in a week so it'd be convenient for him to do it and have it signed for me to take with me! But if we no longer need to do it.. then!

Sorry this has nothing to do with the original post! I just came across it, but does the beneficiary have to sign the actual I-129F forms?

Thanks and and good luck to all!
