Hey folks!  I know we are all watching the time lines fervently for our NOA2 date!  My question is, based on the USCIS processing timeline, when the chart suggests that USCIS is processing applications with your receival date, typically how long does it take to receive the NOA2 from this point? Has anyone tracked it ?

Right now it looks likes 4 to 6  months from NOA1 to NOA2.  We are both on the same schedule now.  Both of our timelines estimate around October 12 for NOA2.  They track it here but only with the information from members here.  The USCIS website is not a great indicator because it is early updated and can be misleading.  They track the oldest file they are processing.  It still says January 1 but that may be due to RFEs.  March and April are receiving NOA2s even though the USCIS site says they are processing January 1.

NOA2s are taking 3-4 months - on average - currently (closer to 4 months). Some people are processed a little sooner, and others are at 6+ months waiting.

thanks guys - I appreciate the feedback !  I do understand the timelines right now seem to suggest  3-4 months between NOA dates . but my question is a bit more specific.. my question is when they actually get to the date of my application, about how long can I expect? when I see them processing June 6th,  what can I expect (roughly) ?  It has already been 63 days from my NOA1 notice. I am just anxious and curious and doing anything I can to narrow down my count down!! :-)

I'm not entirely sure how to answer this, sorry. If you're asking about the I-129F, a single, simple application probably only takes several minutes to review. If there's things like criminal records or divorce decrees to review, it can take longer to review & verify their accuracy. But there's things like the background checks and such that can delay adjudication. The real issue is the luck of the draw on what officer gets your petition and their existing workload + priorities. Petitions are not processed strictly sequentially. Somebody who filed a month before you could have theirs looked at sooner. So there is no real "date" they are looking at...any single officer could have I-129Fs filed over the timespan of a few months (some waiting on RFE responses, some waiting on background checks, some waiting on document checks, etc.). Another officer could have cases with an entirely different timespan. Once your case is outside USCIS' normal processing times, then you can submit a service request.

When they do get to your case, they will either approve and send a NOA2, send an RFE for something missed or (more) evidence of a requirement, or deny. Outright denials are very rare and not for simple mistakes. If you get an RFE, you will receive it in the mail roughly a week or 2 later with the details of what to fix and instructions to submit the response before the RFE deadline. Failure to submit everything being requested by the deadline will result in a denial (so don't partially answer the RFE). RFE responses can take anywhere from a couple days to 60+ days for a response. After 60 days, you can submit a service request.

Once the I-129F is approved, the I-129F will be sent to NVC for processing. It will get a case number and be sent to the embassy for processing. From USCIS -> NVC -> embassy takes roughly a month usually. After that is really embassy-specific, but the beneficiary needs to gather paperwork (birth certificate, police certs, etc.), pay the MRV fee, submit a DS-160, complete a medical, and schedule the interview (sometimes the embassy does this once the prior items are submitted).

good morning from dubai!

It takes 4 - 5 months before you get your NOA2.

Just received our NOA2 today and it was dated Aug 3. So it took them 126 days to approve our case.

Hope you will get yours very soon.
